Huangping County Huangping county is a county under the jurisdiction of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province. The name of the county originated from Jiuzhou, and got its name from "Pui Tu Wei Huang".
Huangping county is located in the southeast of Guizhou Province, in the northwest of Qiandongnan Prefecture. It borders Shibing in the East, Taijiang and Kaili in the south, Weng'an and Fuquan in the west, and Yuqing in the north.
In 2017, the GDP of Huangping County reached 5.771 billion yuan, including 1.762 billion yuan in the first industry, 656 million yuan in the second industry and 3.353 billion yuan in the third industry. The ratio of three industrial structures is 30.5:11.4:58.1.
As of 2019, the county covers an area of 1668 square kilometers, governs 8 towns, 3 townships, 142 administrative villages and 9 communities, with a total population of 398000, of which 68.5% are Miao, Youge and other ethnic minorities.

Evolution of organizational system
Huangping county belongs to Liangzhou in the pre Qin period.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it belonged to the state of Jue and Qielan.

In the Han Dynasty, in the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC), pingqilan county was established, and Huangping was subordinate to it.
In Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Chongzhou Xinxing and Shaoming counties.
In the Southern Song Dynasty, Huangping city was built in the sixth year of LiZong Baoyou (1258) and named zhenyuanzhou. The name of Huangping was first seen in history. In the first year of JINGDING (1260), huangpingyuan Shuai Fu was set up, and Chongan chief secretary was set up, which was subordinate to Bozhou.
In the Yuan Dynasty, in the 28th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1291), Huang Ping Fu was set up, which belonged to Bozhou and Sichuan Province. In addition, shangtangchang lawsuit was set up, which governed Luojia, Pingxi (now Pingxi dependency) and gelangdong (now Langdong dependency).
In the Ming Dynasty, in 1374, Huang Ping'an was set up as a caretaker of Huang Ping'an.
In 1914, Huangping Prefecture was abolished and changed into Huangping county.
