Panshi Panshi City belongs to Jilin City, Jilin Province, which is located in the south of Jilin Province and the south of Jilin City. Panshi City has a total population of 520978 (in 2016), including 16 ethnic groups, such as Han and Korean. In 2016, the city's GDP reached 25.6 billion yuan.
In October 2018, Panshi was selected as one of the top 100 counties and cities with investment potential in 2018. Selected into the top 100 counties and cities with investment potential in 2019. In November 2019, it was named "four good rural road" national demonstration county. In November 2020, it will be selected into the list of the first batch of model counties (cities and districts) of deepening the reform of small reservoir management system by the Ministry of water resources.
Historical evolution
In November 1945, the democratic government of Panshi county was established, which was subordinate to Yongji Prefecture Committee of CPC and Jilin provincial local working committee.
In January 1946, Jilin Province was merged with Liaoning Province, and Panshi county was subordinate to northern Liaoning Province. On May 27 of the same year, the Panshi county Party committee and the county government of the Communist Party of China transferred to Jiangnan in Heishi district to fight guerrillas, and then they were subordinate to the Jinan Prefecture Party committee and the Jinan special office. Panshi county government established by KMT is subordinate to Jilin provincial government led by KMT.
On May 31, 1947, Panshi county government was liberated. Panshi county government was still subordinate to Jinan special office. After the special office was abolished, it was subordinate to Jilin provincial government.
After the founding of new China, the people's Government of Panshi county was subordinate to the people's Government of Jilin Province.
In February 1956, Panshi County People's government was renamed Panshi County People's Committee.
In September 1958, Panshi County People's Committee was subordinate to Jilin City People's Committee.
In January 1966, Panshi county was subordinate to Yongji special office.
On August 16, 1968, Panshi County Revolutionary Committee was established.
In May 1969, Yongji County was abolished and Panshi county was subordinate to Jilin Revolutionary Committee.
In October 1980, the Revolutionary Committee of Panshi county was abolished and the people's Government of Panshi county was established, which was subordinate to the people's Government of Jilin City.
In October 1995, Panshi county was set up as a city instead of a county. The people's Government of Panshi county was renamed Panshi City People's government, which was directly under the jurisdiction of Jilin Province and administered by Jilin City.

Panshi City is located in the West foot of Changbai Mountain. The Changbai Mountains are hadaling mountains. Laoyeling ranges from east to West in the territory. It is high in the middle and northeast and low in the north and south. It looks like a ridge. The altitude is 500-1000 meters. It is the watershed of Huifa River system and Yinma River system. On the north and south sides of the watershed, the river flows north and south along the syncline. After a long period of erosion, alluvial and other external forces, the two banks along the river developed into a normal landform and became a wide valley area. Jieshan jizhaodingzi between Chaihe town and Yantongshan town is 1049 meters above sea level, which is the highest point in the city; the elevation of 1.3 kilometers west of jiguanshantun in Jianchang village in the north of Yantongshan town is 230 meters above sea level, which is the lowest point in the city, with a relative elevation difference of 819 meters.

Low mountain area
The low mountainous area in Panshi City covers an area of 1730.72 square kilometers, accounting for 43.66% of the total area of the city. It is distributed in the watershed area of Hulan River and Shima River, Jichang Town, Chaoyang mountain town, Shizui Town, the south of Mingcheng town and the north of Baoshan Township. The altitude is 700m ~ 1000m, the relative altitude is 150m ~ 700m, and the slope is 15m. ~40。。 The low mountain structure is mainly denuded low mountain, a few of which are flat and round with slight cutting degree and good vegetation coverage.
Hilly area
The hilly area of Panshi City is 1308 square kilometers, accounting for 32.98% of the total area of the city. It is distributed in the southeast of Yantongshan Town, Shizui Town, Futai Town, Baoshan Township, the south of Songshan Town, Chaoyang town and some or most areas of Hulan Town, niuxin Town, Hongqiling town and Heishi town. Most of the hills are formed by structural denudation, most of them are round, and a few are steamed bread, ridge and flat top. Valley Plain
There are few Valley plains in Panshi City, which are distributed on the valley plains in the southeast and northwest of Panshi City. The drainage area of the Banshi river is 15000 hectares; the drainage area of the Xiaohuang River and the glass river is more than 20000 hectares; the drainage area of the Futai river is more than 10000 hectares; the drainage area of the Hulan River is 10000 hectares; the drainage area of the Huifa River is 10000 hectares; and the drainage area of the Yinma River is more than 10000 hectares. The valley plain is a key rice producing area in Panshi City with dark soil and abundant water resources.
Karst scenery
There are many kinds of karst landforms in the limestone low mountain area of Panshi City. Karst landforms are mainly distributed in niuxin, Yantongshan, Mingcheng, Jichang, Shizui and other towns, with a length of more than 60 kilometers from north to South and a width of about 15 kilometers from east to west. Among them, Guanma cave in Yantongshan town is the largest and has been developed as a tourist attraction, followed by Xianren Cave (Fu'an Street), xiaoxinkailing (Shizui), bingjiao (Jichang) and Konglong mountain (niuxinhulong). The waterfall has the Yantongshan town shihugou hanging kettle waterfall. There are four underground rivers: Xiaojia in niuxin Town, gangchashan in Mingcheng Town, Manjing in Jichang town and Guanma cave in Yantongshan town. The most typical cliff is Huifa.

Hadaling mountains in Jilin Province
Northeast southwest trend, altitude 400 m ~ 1400 m, belongs to Changbai Mountain system. It starts from Chengzishan (southeast of Xifeng County) in Liaoning Province, passes through Xifeng, Dongliao, Panshi (Zhimai Laoyeling, from Chaoyang town to Renjing), Yongji and other counties, and ends at quchaihe town in Panshi City. It turns to Taiping mountain, zhaodaji mountain, Nanlou mountain, Motianling mountain and Maanshan mountain in Northeast China, connecting with dalayeling. There are more than 100 high, medium and low mountain peaks in hadaling, with vigorous mountains, lush vegetation, rich mineral resources and many wild animals. Hadaling is the watershed between Huifa River and Dongliao River, and Songhua River cuts across the northeast end of the mountain range.
Laoyeling branch
Traversing the central part of Panshi City, east-west trend, with a length of more than 100 kilometers and an altitude of more than 500 meters, it is a branch of Jilin hadaling mountains. Laoyeling is the birthplace and watershed of Huifa River and Yinma River. The branch of Laoyeling ranges from Chaoyang town in the west of the city to the northeast of Caihe town. There are more than 40 peaks, 34 of which are more than 500 meters. The remaining veins of Laoyeling extend to the whole city. Most of them are low mountains and hills. The mountains are short and small, with disordered strike, undulating hills, crisscross valleys and lingering streams.
Longgang mountains
It belongs to Changbai Mountain system, located in the southeast of Panshi City, at the junction of Huinan County and Huadian City, with northeast southwest trend. In Panshi City, laodaoling, songshuren mountain, dongdadingzi, wangxiaogou Dadingzi, seshuling and other peaks belong to Longgang mountains, with dense forests and rich wild animal and plant resources.
