Zhangwu County belongs to Fuxin City, Liaoning Province. Historical evolution
During the Warring States period, Zhangwu belonged to the state of Yan, and the great wall of Yan traversed the territory of Zhangwu.
From the Qin Dynasty to the Han Dynasty, the administrative region was still under the Yan system, and later became the nomadic land of the Wuhuan and Xianbei nationalities.
During the period of Jin and sixteen states, Zhangwu belonged to Murong Department of Xianbei.
In the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Zhangwu area was first governed by the Sui and Tang Dynasties, and then by the governor's office of Yingzhou (now Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province) in the Tang Dynasty.

In 1368, after the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, Zhangwu area was under the jurisdiction of the commander and envoy of Liaodong County, which belonged to Guangning houtunwei.
In the third year of Tiancong in the Qing Dynasty (1629), Shanba, a Mongolian nobleman, led his troops to the Qing Dynasty. After that, he built duerbi city (near today's gaoshantai) in Zhangwu and set up a ranch.
In 1902, the Qing government set up a county in Zhangwu. The name of the county was named "Zhangwu County" because of the wicker side gate of Zhangwu platform.
