Luoding, a county-level city directly under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, is managed by Yunfu City. It was called Longzhou in ancient times. Luoding is located in the west of Guangdong Province, to the south of Xijiang River. It is the traffic hub of Xijiang corridor. Historically, it is known as "the gate of defense, the important place of pacifying suis", as "the pivot of Guangdong" and "the granary of Lingnan". Luoding, located in the center of Guangdong and Guangxi, is one of the most convenient channels between Guangdong and southwest China, and an important part of "Pearl River Xijiang economic belt".

Luoding Prefecture was one of the "ten prefectures and one Prefecture" in Guangdong during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Luoding is the core area of Nanjiang culture. Luodingjiang, or Nanjiang, is listed as one of the "four rivers of Guangdong" by ancient scholars. In the Neolithic Age 10000 years ago, human beings lived and multiplied on the land of Luoding. They live in caves in Pingtang and Jinji, and live a life of fishing and hunting.
Four or five thousand years ago, the Longjiang River, Luojing River and Taiping River Basins in Luoding were full of traces of human life. The Warring States tomb at beifushan, Hengdong, Luoping, was discovered in the early years. According to experts' conjecture, the owner of the tomb is known as "the king of Baiyue" in historical materials. A large number of cultural relics unearthed from the tomb prove that Luoding once created a splendid ancient civilization more than 2400 years ago. In response, Mr. Zeng Zhaoxuan, a famous Chinese geographer, once wrote an article pointing out: "Luoding is adjacent to Gaoyao in the East, Yangchun in the south, and Cenxi in the West. It is an ancient natural country, which was called the ancient kingdom between the two mountains (Yunkai mountain and Yunwu Mountain)

The location of the county is unknown.
