Historical evolution
Xiuyan was established in Liao Dynasty. In 1115, Daning town (in the north of Xiuyan town today) was set up in Liaoning Province, belonging to Jian'an County of Shangjing Road, hesuguan road. In 1119, jinmingchang promoted Daning town to Xiuyan County, belonging to Chenzhou, Tokyo road. In Ming Dynasty, Xiuyan fort was set up instead of Xiuyan. In 1644, a city guard was set up to manage the flag affairs. Xiuyan hall was set up in 1772 to manage the affairs of the people. In 1876, Xiuyan hall was demoted to Xiuyan state, which was subordinate to Fenghuang hall. in 1913, it was changed to Xiuyan County, under the jurisdiction of fengtianfu East Road. In 1919, the garrison of Xiuyan city was abolished. in 1929, it was directly under Liaoning Province. After the Japanese invaders occupied Xiuyan on December 16, 1932, they established the puppet Xiuyan County Office, which was subordinate to the puppet Fengtian province and the puppet Anton province. In October 1945, Xiuyan County government was established, which first belonged to Zhuang Xiu special area of Anton Province, and then to the first special area of southern Liaoning administrative office. In October 1946, after the Kuomintang army occupied Xiuyan, Xiuyan County government was established, which was subordinate to Anton province. Xiuyan recovered in June 1947, and was subordinate to Liaoning Province, Liaodong Province, Anton District of Liaoning Province and Anton (Dandong) city of Liaoning Province.
