Wulathouqi wulathouqi is located in the northwest of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, under the jurisdiction of Bayannaoer City. It is one of the 19 minority border counties in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It borders Mongolia in the north and is 50km away from Linhe District, where Bayannaoer City is located in the south. With a total area of 25000 square kilometers and a border line of 195.25 kilometers, it has a population of 65000 by 2013. It is a border banner of ethnic minorities with Mongolian as the main body and Han nationality as the majority. Ulat Houqi was rated as "2012 top 100 banner of China's new energy industry", ranking sixth in China and first in the autonomous region.
In March 2019, it was announced by the Ministry of water resources as the first batch of water-saving society construction standard counties (districts). On January 22, 2020, it was named National Garden County by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development. In July, the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee reconfirmed Ulat Houqi as a national health county.
Historical evolution
According to historical records and archaeological discoveries, the trace of human ancestors' activities in Wulate Houqi can be traced back to the Neolithic age.
Since the Warring States period, this is the Xiongnu pastoral area.
In the fifth year of Shunzhi (1648), the Qing government granted the vast pastoral area to Wulat Sangong banner (Wulat Front Banner, Wulat Middle Banner, Wulat rear banner, belonging to Ulanqab League). Since then, Wulat tribe has moved here from Hulunbuir.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the regionalization has undergone several changes, and it began to develop into the present situation after 1970.

The annual output of goat skin and sheepskin is 50000-80000, which is an excellent raw material for leather making.
