Yuanyang County Yuanyang County is one of the counties under the jurisdiction of Honghe Prefecture in Yunnan Province. The county is located in the south of Yunnan Province, covering an area of 2212.32 square kilometers (2017), covering 74 kilometers from east to west and 55 kilometers from north to south.
Yuanyang County is a mountainous area with no plain land. The lowest altitude is 144 meters, the highest altitude is 2939.6 meters, the relative elevation difference is 2795.6 meters, and the annual average temperature is 24.4 ℃. By the end of 2010, the total population of Yuanyang County was 424284. There were seven ethnic groups in Yuanyang County, including Hani, Yi, Han, Dai, Miao, Yao and Zhuang. There were 376018 ethnic minorities, accounting for 88.62%. In 2010, the GDP of Yuanyang County was 2004.73 million yuan, and the proportion of primary, secondary and tertiary industries was 33.06 ∶ 24.63 ∶ 42.31. Yuanyang is located in the south of Yuanjiang River in the upper reaches of the Red River, so it is called Yuanyang.
Before 109 B.C., Yuanyang County is now a territory of the ancient Dai state "mengdaguang" (Chinese translation of "Ailao state").
The Western Han Dynasty belongs to Yizhou County, the Eastern Han Dynasty belongs to Yizhou County, the Shu Han Dynasty belongs to Yizhou Xinggu County, the two Jin and Southern dynasties belong to ningzhou Xinggu County, and the northern dynasties belong to Nanning state. Sui belongs to Nanning Prefecture. In the early Tang Dynasty, it belonged to lingnandao and manbu. In the Nanzhao kingdom of Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Tonghai Dudu. Song Dali belongs to Xiushan County. Yuan belongs to xuanweisi and Nilu in Yuanjiang of Lin'an Guangxi.
The Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to Lin'an Prefecture. In the 15th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1382), the ninth deputy chief of Nalou Chadian had jurisdiction over "Sanjiang Bali" (Sanjiang refers to Honghe River, tengtiaojiang River and heijiang River, "Bali" refers to yongshunli, leshanli, anzhengli, chongdaoli, dunhouli, Fusheng Li, taiheli and qinchongli). The boundary extends to Jiaozhi (Vietnam) in the East, yuntaili in Shiping in the west, Zhili Prefecture in Yuanjiang in the South and zhifangpu in Lin'an in the north. Hongwu years, set up a mountain soil inspection. In the 15th year of Shunzhi (1658) of the Qing Dynasty, wumuzhang village was set up, which governed the four villages of binglangyuan, Wumu, Nansha and nanshaxinzhai. Later, wubangzhang village was set up, which governed Wubang, wubangxinzhai and sharengou. During the reign of Yongzheng, the general office of Tuba was set up to govern fengchunling, Daping and some areas of Xiaoxin district. Yongzheng 13 years (1735), set up mengnongzhang village. In 1883, Nalou tea garden was divided into four parts. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Jianshui County, Mengzi County and Gejiu county. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), dunhouli, which is under the jurisdiction of Nalou, was designated as the Ninth District of Jianshui County. In 1913, the government of the Republic of China carried out the Baojia system in the chieftain area on the South Bank of the red river. Dunhouli and other places were assigned to the Southern District of Jianshui County. In 1918, Malong village was divided into Malong village and Liuhu village. In 1922, taiheli was changed to Taihe Township, the Ninth District of Jianshui County; leshanli and yongshunli were changed to Yongle township of Jianshui County; Wubang and Shuitang villages were transferred to Ruiyun township of Jianshui County; zongwa, wazhe, zongha, Liuhu, Malong and Wumu villages were transferred to Liuhe Township of Jianshui County; mengnongzhang village was changed to Mengnong township of Jianshui County.
In January 1950, Xinmin county was established. On September 20, 1950, it was renamed Xinmin office. On May 7, 1951, with the approval of the Government Affairs Council, Xinmin office was changed to Yuanyang County. It belonged to Honghe Hani Autonomous Region in 1954 and Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in 1957. The county people's government is located in Xinjie.
On January 28, 1950, eight townships were set up in Yuanyang County, including Dunhou, Yongle, Tuanjie, Mengnong, Xiaoshi, nageng, zuiwu and Helin, and the sanmeng office was in charge of them. In March of the same year, Dunhou township was changed to Shuji District, Xiaoshi township to Xiaoshi District, Tuanjie Township to Tuanjie District, Hexiang to Jiru District, nageng township to nageng District, and zuiwu township to zuiwu district. Yongle Township and Mengnong township will be preserved.
From September 1950 to 1952, Yuanyang County set up 72 joint defense units under the district (township). The former three li outside Mengnong Township and the five Bao in Yongle Township were equivalent to the first level joint defense units, acting as the basic level government.
In 1951, Yuanyang County set up five townships and three towns, namely Tuanjie Township, Heliang Township, Taihe Township, Mengnong Township, Yongle Township, Dunhou Town, nageng town and Zuowu town.
In 1952, four districts and two townships were set up, namely, one, two, three and four districts, Mengnong Township and Yongle township. In the same year, malizhai Hani Autonomous township was established. Bajiaoling Yi Autonomous township was established in 1953. In 1954, Wanmo Dai Autonomous township was established.
In April 1955, SANMENG district was assigned to the Luchun office.
After the land reform in 1956, there were seven districts named after the residence. The first district was called New District, the second district was called niujiaozhai District, the third district was called New City District, the fourth district was called fengchunling District, the Fifth District was called Panzhihua District, the Sixth District was called huangcaoling District, and the seventh district was called Ma district. There are 75 townships, all named after their residences.
In November 1958, in the "communization" movement, the people's commune was established with the district as the unit and the township as the management area. In April 1959, the district was the associated press and the township was the commune.
On March 23, 1960, lengdun village of xiaotulong township was classified as Gejiu City.
In 1962, the system was adjusted and the district and township were restored. On March 20 of the same year, kuchahe Township in fengchunling district was assigned to Jinping County.
In 1964, pulongzhai and tudizhai townships in Jinping County were assigned to Yuanyang County.
In 1970, Yuanyang County was divided into 13 people's communes, which were named Chaoyang, Hongqi, Dongfeng, Shuguang, Hongfeng, Shengli, Xincheng, Qianjin, Yuejin, Weidong, xiaoxinjie, fengchunling and Daping people's communes. It has 101 brigades. In 1971, there were 28 new brigades. There were 129 brigades in Yuanyang County.
On March 12, 1972, the name of the commune was changed to that of the residence.
In June 1974, Nansha commune was set out by Xinjie commune and huangmaoling commune was set out by Panzhihua commune.
In 1978, Yuanyang County governed 15 people's communes, including Xinjie, Shengcun, ganiang, Xincheng, Xiaoxin street, fengchunling, Daping, niujiaozhai, Shalatuo, Panzhihua, huangmaoling, huangcaoling, oza, Majie and Nansha, with 129 brigades.

In January 1988, the district and township system reform was carried out. Yuanyang County set up one town, 14 townships, 121 village offices and 12 offices. Chengguan town and Xinjie district were merged into Xinjie town. Nansha District was rebuilt into a Dai Township in Nansha. In April 1995, the political center of Yuanyang County was transferred to Nansha. In April 1999, the Dai Township in Nansha was abolished and Nansha Town was established.
