Queshan county is located in the south of Henan Province, on the North Bank of the Huaihe River, with Tongbai and Funiu Mountains in the West and Huanghuai Plain in the East. It is located between Zhengzhou and Wuhan. Historically, it is known as "the hinterland of the Central Plains and the throat of Henan and Hubei".
Queshan county is subordinate to Zhumadian City, named after Queshan, which is six li to the East and south of the county. Queshan county has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate. It has an industrial production system dominated by machinery, chemical industry and mining. It is rich in mineral resources and is the largest building materials production base in southern Henan.
In 2018, the national health county (township) was reconfirmed. In November 2019, it will be selected as the second batch of counties (districts) that meet the water-saving society construction standards. On February 26, 2020, the people's Government of Henan Province approved Queshan county to withdraw from poverty-stricken county, officially lifting its hat. As of June 2020, Queshan county has jurisdiction over 3 streets and 10 towns.
Historical evolution
In Queshan, ancient ancestors lived and multiplied in the shallow mountains and plains for a long time. There are Paleolithic human sites in dashishan, Shandong, and Neolithic cultural sites in Caozhuang, Zhuzhuang, and Xianglin. To the Western Zhou Dynasty, the northern part of the county is the state of Tao, and the southeast part is the state of Jiang. The spring and Autumn period belongs to Chu, and the Qin Dynasty belongs to Yingchuan county.
In the fourth year of emperor Gaodi of the Western Han Dynasty (203 BC), Langling county was set up to govern Rendian on the North Bank of today's qintou River, belonging to Runan County. In 25 BC, Chang'an Marquis was established in the northwest of the county; in 7 BC, Yang'an Marquis was established in the northeast. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Anchang entered Langling. In the Western Jin Dynasty, Anchang county was established in the southwest. In the northern and Southern Dynasties, with the development of the situation, the name, territory and ownership of the county changed frequently. In 421 ad, Liu Song of the Southern Dynasty built Chuan County in the county. In 528 and 547, Nanliang occupied Huaibei twice, abolished Chuan County, and ruled Chenzhou by overseas Chinese. After the re occupation of the Northern Wei Dynasty, the abandoned state was still called Anchang county. In 556, the Northern Qi Dynasty abolished prefectures and counties, and Jingzhou was ruled by overseas Chinese. In the Northern Zhou Dynasty, it was changed to Weizhou.
In the early Sui Dynasty, Weizhou was abandoned and Anchang county was changed. Kaihuang three years (583), moved to the county now. In 598, Anchang county was changed to Langshan county. In the early Tang Dynasty, it was changed to Beilang state; in the first year of Zhenguan (627), it was abandoned and restored to Langshan County, belonging to Yuzhou. In the first year of Baoying (762), Yuzhou was changed to caizhou because of avoiding the Emperor Li Yubo. Langshan County belonged to caizhou, and the Five Dynasties remained unchanged.
In 1012, Dalang mountain was changed into Leshan and Langshan County into Queshan county. In the Jin Dynasty, it belonged to the southern army of caizhou town. In the 30th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1294), caizhou was changed to runing, and Queshan County belonged to runing Prefecture.
In the early Ming Dynasty, Queshan county was withdrawn and incorporated into Ruyang County. In 1382, Queshan county was restored to runing Prefecture. Chenghua 11 years (1475 years), change Li in Xinyang Prefecture. Hongzhi two years (1489), return to Ru Ning Fu. The Qing Dynasty has not changed.
In 1913 (2 years of the Republic of China), nanruguang road was abolished and later changed to Ruyang road. In 1931 (20 years of the Republic of China), it was transferred to the eighth administrative region of Henan Province and ruled exclusively in Runan. In 1949, all the counties in southern Henan were liberated. In April 1949, the people's government set up Queshan special office in Zhumadian. In August 1949, it was moved to Xinyang special office. In 1965, the two counties were divided, and Queshan County belonged to Zhumadian area.
In March 2001, Zhumadian City was under the jurisdiction of Zhumadian City.
Division evolution
In the early years of Tianshun in the Ming Dynasty, Queshan county was divided into 8 townships with 20 baos. The county seat is located in the city of Zaicheng.
In the third year of Shunzhi (1646) of the Qing Dynasty, there were eight guarantees in the county, namely, Zaicheng, dongliubao, jiulibao, chongxingbao, xiuwenbao, wuzhaibao, xingrenbao and xianghuabao. After that, 41 additional insurances were gradually added, that is, 10 in the East, 10 in the south, 10 in the West and 10 in the north.
In the early years of the Republic of China, the 41 guarantees of the Qing Dynasty remained unchanged. In 1922, it was divided into seven districts, namely, Zaicheng, Zhumadian, Liuzhuang, Shenhe, humiao, Rendian and Wagang. In 1931, the county was divided into eight districts with 114 townships and towns. In 1936, the joint insurance system was implemented. The county was divided into four districts, 58 joint insurance and 261 joint insurance. In 1941, the county was divided into Langling Town, Zhumadian Town, Liudian Township, Shunhe Township, Lianhe Township, Beiquan Township, Jinding Township, shigunhe Township, Xingdian Township, Rendian Township, xin'andian Township, Yangdian Township, Liuzhuang Township and puhuisi Township until liberation.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, according to the needs of the development of the situation and economic construction, the administrative divisions have been adjusted many times. In 1949, there were Chengguan in the first district, Wagang in the Second District, Hu temple in the third district, Hanzhuang in the Fourth District, Lilou in the Fifth District, shiziqiao in the Sixth District, xin'andian in the seventh district, and 77 townships. In 1951, the county was changed into Chengguan District, the southern part of the fourth district and Xiushan township of the second district as one district, and the western part of the Sixth District was divided into eight districts. It has 138 townships, 12 towns and 14 streets.
In 1952, Zhumadian City Old Street, North Zhanglou two township to belong; in 1953, Runan County zhangjiaozhuang township to belong.
In 1956, in the process of co-operation, the county set up one town, 20 central townships, 47 general townships, and 223 senior agricultural production cooperatives (then called collective farms). They are Chengguan Town, Yangzhuang Central Township, Panlong Central Township, Zhugou Central Township, shigunhe Central Township, Yifeng Central Township, humiao Central Township, Zang Central Township, Gaozhuang Central Township, Shunhe Central Township, Gucheng Central Township and Lilou Central Township Township is in charge of 2 townships; Liudian Central Township is in charge of 2 townships; Liuzhuang Central Township is in charge of 2 townships; Xinghe Central Township is in charge of 2 townships; xin'andian Central Township is in charge of 3 townships; Shuanghe Central Township is in charge of 2 townships; guangongmiao Central Township is in charge of 2 townships; lixindian Central Township is in charge of 2 townships; Rendian Central Township is in charge of 2 townships; Luzhuang Central Township is in charge of 4 townships.
In 1957, Biyang County, the former urban and rural areas, Duhe township to belong. In April 1958, Zhumadian town was changed into a town under the jurisdiction of the county, and was assigned to Queshan.
In August 1958, the township (town) system was abolished, and 262 senior agricultural production cooperatives in the county were merged into 15 communes (towns), namely Chengguan Town, Zhumadian Town, Hongqi (old street), Yuejin (Yangdian), Heping (lixindian), Ganggang (xin'andian), rocket (Puhui Temple), Dongfeng (Liudian), Yingxiong (ancient city), Liangyuan (ant bee), Xingfu (Hu Temple), Chaoying (Village)( Rendian, Chaomei, Hongxing and Zhugou. In November 1958, the organizational system of 15 people's communes (towns) was abolished, and Queshan red people's commune was established, which has jurisdiction over 8 administrative areas, namely Chengguan, xin'andian, Xinghe, Rendian, Zhugou, Wuguiqiao, humiao and Zhumadian. In April 1959, Queshan red people's commune was changed into Queshan County People's commune Union, and eight administrative areas were changed into eight communes.
In September 1961, the people's commune union of Queshan county was abolished and the people's Committee of Queshan county was restored. Eight people's communes were changed into two towns and eight districts, with 36 communes under its jurisdiction. Two towns are Chengguan town and Zhumadian town; eight districts are Gaozhuang District, Xinghe District, Rendian District, Zhugou District, suburban district, Wuguiqiao District, humiao district and xin'andian district. In June 1962, Chengguan town and Zhumadian town were retained, and 8 districts and 36 communes were changed into 21 communes, namely Gaozhuang, Shunhe, Yangdian, lixindian, xin'andian, Liuzhuang, huangshanpo, houmiao, Rendian, Puhui temple, shigunhe, Zhugou, Wagang, Guanshan, sanlidian, Liudian, Wuguiqiao, Gucheng, Yifeng, zangji and humiao. In December of the same year, Zhumadian town was designated as a special town under the jurisdiction of Xinyang special office. In March 1963, the county was reorganized into 13 communes in one town, namely Chengguan Town, Gaozhuang, Yangdian, xin'andian, Liuzhuang, Rendian, Puhui temple, Zhugou, Wagang, sanlidian (changed to suburb in March 1970), Liudian, Gucheng, Yifeng and Hu temple.
In January 1971, the four brigades of Gaozhuang and humiao commune were assigned to Zhumadian town. In February 1975, shunshandian and lixindian communes were set up. In March 1977, shigunhe and Shuanghe communes were added. In June, zhugudong commune was added.
In July 1980, the communes of Shunhe, Liuge and Hanzhuang (changed to Xiangshan in November 1981) in Zhumadian town were put under the jurisdiction of Queshan county. In 1983, in accordance with the notice of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the separation of government and society and the establishment of township government, the communes were transformed into townships successively from August to December. In May 1986, the three townships of Shunhe, Liuge and Xiangshan were put under the jurisdiction of Zhumadian City (originally under the jurisdiction of Zhumadian district administrative office, and later changed to Yicheng District in March 2001). So far, Queshan county has jurisdiction over one town and 17 townships. In December 1987, Chengguan town was changed into Panlong town and Chengjiao Township into Sanlihe township. In March 1989, Zhugou, Rendian, xin'andian and Liuzhuang were removed from their villages to build towns. In January 1998 and June 2000, Liudian and Yifeng withdrew their villages and built towns respectively.
In 2000, Queshan county had jurisdiction over 7 towns and 11 townships.
On December 25, 2001, with the approval of the State Council (guohan No. 172), Gucheng Township, zhugudong Township and humiao township of Queshan county were put under the jurisdiction of Yicheng District of Zhumadian City; on December 25, 2009, with the approval of the State Council, Yifeng town of Queshan county was put under the jurisdiction of Yicheng District of Zhumadian City.
In 2005, the township administrative division of Queshan county was adjusted: Yangdian township was abolished and its administrative division was changed
