Yuanbaoshan District Yuanbaoshan District is one of the three municipal districts of Chifeng City in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in the southeast of Chifeng City, at the junction of northeast and North China Economic Zone and the intersection of Mongolia, Hebei and Liaoning provinces. Yuanbaoshan District was founded in 1983, with a total area of 952.14 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 5 towns, 6 sub district offices, 66 villagers' committees and 42 community neighborhood committees.
As of 2010, the total population is 325200, including 178200 non-agricultural population, which is composed of 16 ethnic groups including Han, Mongolia and Hui, with Han as the main body. The district government is located in the urban area of Pingzhuang, which is 43 km away from Chifeng, 140 km away from Chaoyang, 238 km away from Jinzhou port, 440 km away from Shenyang and Beijing. There are famous sites of "Hongshan Culture" and "Xiajiadian Culture".
In November 2015, it was listed as the second batch of national new urbanization comprehensive pilot areas.

In 1138, the Jin Dynasty changed Liaozhong capital into Beijing, and Yuanbaoshan District belonged to Sanhan County, Dading Prefecture, Beijing road.
In 1270, Beijing road was changed to Daning Road, and Yuanbaoshan District belonged to Daning road Gaozhou.
In 1940, Manchukuo implemented the combination of banner and county, and abolished the county system. Wengniute Right Banner was built in Chifeng, and karaqin Right Banner was built in Pingzhuang. Wengniute Right Banner was in the north of Yuanbaoshan District, and karaqin Right Banner was in the south.
Jianzhong county was established in September 1946, and its resident is Pingzhuang.
In 1961, Pingzhuang district was under the jurisdiction of Chifeng county.
On July 1, 1979, the territory of Yuanbaoshan District was assigned to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region along with Zhaowuda League.
On October 10, 1983, Yuanbaoshan District of Chifeng City was established with the approval of the State Council. The seat of the government is located at Spruce Road.
In November 1993, the resident moved to Pingzhuang.

It has jurisdiction over the former three communes of Pingzhuang, Wujia and Yuanbaoshan in Chifeng City, four communes of meilihe, xiaowujia, halabtu and Jianchangying in Chifeng County, two communes of taipingdi and anqinggou, and two communes of matoiyingzi and Louzidian in Kalaqin banner. It was originally located at Yunshan road and moved to Pingzhuang town in 1993.
In 1987, Yuanbaoshan area was 887 square kilometers, with a population of 265000, including 26000 Mongolians. It has jurisdiction over 3 streets, 8 towns and 2 townships: xikaichang street, Yunshanlu street, Malin street, Pingzhuang Town, Jianchangying Town, Wujia Town, meilihe Town, Fengshuigou Town, Yuanbaoshan Town, Gushan Town, Shanqian Town, xiaowujia Hui Township and halabtu township. The district government is located in Pingzhuang Town, 36 kilometers away from the municipal government.
By the end of 2000, Yuanbaoshan District had jurisdiction over two streets, nine towns, one ethnic group, 58 administrative villages and 62 neighborhood committees.

Yuanbaoshan District is located in the east of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Southeast of Chifeng central city, with a total area of 952.14 square kilometers. The highest peak is 1135.2 meters above sea level in Luotuo mountain at the western end of xiaowujia Hui nationality township, and the lowest peak is 448 meters above sea level in Laoha river bed of Dabeihai Village 7, Fengshuigou town.

Laoha River, the main river in Yuanbao mountain area, enters from Sijia village. It is 55.5 km from Dabeihai, Fengshuigou Town, with an average flow of 13.6 M / s. The maximum flood volume is 9840 m3 / S (late July 1962). Yingjin River enters from Changsheng village of Yuanbaoshan town. The junction of houwujia of Yuanbaoshan town and shaojiawanzi of Fengshuigou town converges with Laoha river. It flows through 20 km with an average runoff of 0.38 M / s.

In 2013, there were 368000 mu of cultivated land in Yuanbaoshan area, including 255000 mu of irrigated land. The cultivated land shows weak alkaline reaction and lacks nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The main orchards are jinxiushan orchard in Pingzhuang Town, Xinglongzhuang orchard and vineyard in Fengshuigou town.
Biological resources
The ecogeographical group of Yuanbaoshan area has the characteristics of temperate forest steppe. It belongs to the North China type area, Mongolian New flora, and the representative species of northeast flora. Before the Ming Dynasty, it was the place where the pine forest was dense and the water and grass were abundant. Since the middle of Qing Dynasty, the migration, deforestation, grass destruction, wasteland cultivation, vegetation damage, soil erosion, environmental pollution, wild animals and plants were exhausted. Wild plants are mainly Populus, Salix matsudana, Salix psammophila, Salix psammophila, Prunus armeniaca, Zizyphus jujuba, seabuckthorn, etc.; herbs are mainly Medicago ruthenica, alfalfa, Leymus chinensis, reed, Salsola, cattail, etc.; medicinal plants are mainly licorice, ephedra, Polygala tenuifolia, Saposhnikovia, etc. Wild animals mainly include fox, hedgehog, bat, weasel, tiger, hamster, Mongolian Rabbit, etc.; birds mainly include golden eagle, stork, woodpecker, owl, sand chicken, wild duck, quail, swallow, etc.; fish mainly include crucian carp, wild carp, catfish, baipiaozi, loach, etc.; amphibians and reptiles mainly include turtle, toad, frog, lizard, etc.

Up to 2013, 14 coal, gold, copper and iron ore producing areas have been found in Yuanbaoshan District, including 5 medium-sized deposits with proven reserves, 1 small deposit, 5 ore occurrences and 3 mineralization points. There are considerable reserves of oil and natural gas. There are also certain reserves of silica, limestone (including marble), clay, aeolian sand and various stone materials. The coal reserves of the whole region are about 2 billion tons, all of which are lignite with calorific value of 12-17 MJ. Coal resources are distributed in eight towns and townships in the region. Pingzhuang Coal Company is located in Pingzhuang, with an annual output of nearly 10 million tons of raw coal, 60 million tons of coal available for local mining, and 3.38 million tons of raw coal in 2003. There are 5 medium-sized deposits and 1 small-sized deposit, which are distributed in the two coalfield basins of Yuanbaoshan and hepingzhuang, and are collectively referred to as Pingzhuang Coal mining area. Yuanbaoshan coalfield is located in the Chifeng Yuanbaoshan rift basin of tianshankou Balihan Neocathaysian fault belt. It includes Fengshuigou coal mine, Hongmiaozi coal mine and Yuanbaoshan coal mine; Pingzhuang Coal field is located in the middle part of Pingzhuang Coal Basin of tianshankou Balihan Neocathaysian fault zone. Including the West open pit mine, Gushan mine, Wujia mine. It has been proved that there are 1 iron ore point, 2 copper ore points, 2 gold ore points and 3 mineralization points in this area, which are mainly distributed in xiaowujia Hui nationality township. It has been proved that there are basalt, limestone (including marble), silica, red clay, coal gangue, loess and Hesha deposits in this area. Basalt is widely distributed in the whole area with considerable reserves. Limestone (including marble) is of good quality and easy to be mined. Wujiazhen limestone has been used.
