XiXiangTang District XIXIANGTANG district is under the jurisdiction of Nanning City, Guangxi. It was established with the approval of the State Council in March 2005. It is the largest area and the most populous District in Nanning city. XIXIANGTANG district is located in the northwest of Nanning City, connecting Xingning District in the East, Long'an County in the northwest, Jiangnan District in the south, Wuming District in the northeast and Fusui County in the southwest. XIXIANGTANG district is located on the great passage to the sea in the southwest, with developed traffic network. The newly built Express Ring Road and high-speed outer ring road of Nanning connect the southeast ends of the city. With its superior geographical advantages, XIXIANGTANG district has become an important part of the southwest sea passage. The total area of the region is 1298 square kilometers, with a total population of 764600 at the end of 2011.

On December 14, 2017, it was rated as one of the top 100 industrial zones in China. In September 2018, the "white paper on the development of China's top 100 districts in 2018" was released in Beijing. Guided by high-quality development, the white paper comprehensively evaluated the development of 968 prefecture level cities and districts in China. Based on statistical data, XiXiangTang District ranked 81st among the top 100 districts in China in 2018. In November 2018, it was selected as one of the top 100 industrial districts in 2018.
Historical evolution
XIXIANGTANG district has a long history. Before Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Baiyue (Xi'ou, Luoyue). In the 32nd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (214 BC), after the Qin Dynasty unified the Lingnan area, Guilin, Xiang and Nanhai counties were set up. XiXiangTang District belonged to Guilin county. In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC) of the Western Han Dynasty, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty reunified Lingnan and established Cangwu, Yulin, Hepu, Nanhai and other counties. XiXiangTang was under the jurisdiction of Lingfang County of Yulin County. During the Three Kingdoms period, it belonged to Wu, and later it was under the jurisdiction of Six Dynasties, namely, the Western Jin Dynasty, the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Song Dynasty, the Qi Dynasty, the Liang Dynasty and the Chen Dynasty. Jinxing county is located in Jinxing County, which is now Nanning. This is the beginning of XiXiangTang system in Nanning. In 598 ad, Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty changed Jinxing county to Xuanhua county. Sui Yangdi changed the state into a county, which belonged to Yulin County. In 612 ad, Xuanhua county was transformed into nanjinzhou (belonging to lingnandao). In the eighth year of Zhenguan (634 A.D.), nanjinzhou was renamed Yongzhou and set up the lower governor's office. This is the origin of Nanning "Yong" for short. In the first year of Tang Tianbao (742 AD), Yongzhou was changed into langning county. In the first year of Qianyuan (758 AD), langning county was changed into Yongzhou. In the third year of Xiantong in Tang Dynasty (862 AD), the South Road was divided into East and West roads. Lingnan West Road is located in Yongzhou (now Nanning). In the seventh year of Tianfu in the later Jin Dynasty (942 AD), Yongzhou was changed to Chengzhou, and it still belonged to Chu. In the first year of Guangshun in the Later Zhou Dynasty (951 AD), Yongzhou was renamed and belonged to the Southern Han Dynasty. After the Song Dynasty unified the whole country, XiXiangTang belonged to Guangnan West Road. In 1279 ad, it belonged to Yongzhou road. In 1324 ad, Yongzhou road was changed to Nanning Road. In 1363 ad, xingzhongshu province of Huguang was divided into Xingshu province of Guangxi, and XiXiangTang was subordinate to xingzhongshu province of Guangxi. In the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1368 AD), Nanning Road was changed to Nanning mansion, which is now Nanning and is subordinate to the Department of political envoys of Guangxi. In the Qing Dynasty, the provincial system was implemented, and the Department of political envoys was changed into Guangxi Province. Today, XiXiangTang is under the jurisdiction of Xuanhua County, Nanning Prefecture, and is under the jurisdiction of the prefecture and the county. XIXIANGTANG district is a newly established urban area after the revocation of the former Chengbei district and Yongxin District. It is named XIXIANGTANG district because of the famous historical place name of "XiXiangTang" in Nanning city. on September 15, 2004, the State Council approved (guohan No. 79) to adjust part of the administrative divisions of Nanning: to establish XiXiangTang District of Nanning. The former Yongxin new area and Chengbei district (excluding the Tongxin and other 10 villages in Jiangxi town of the former Yongxin District) are under the jurisdiction of XiXiangTang District, and the people's Government of XIXIANGTANG district is located in Daxue road. After the adjustment, XIXIANGTANG district has jurisdiction over XiXiangTang street, Hengyang street, Beihu street, Anji street, Xinyang street, Huaqiang street, Shangyao street, Anning street, Xinwei Town, Shibu Town, Jinling Town, Shuangding Town, Nalong Town, Tanluo town and fufu town. In 2005, Xinwei town and Shibu town were abolished and streets were set up; fufu Township and Nalong town were abolished and merged into Tanluo town and Jinling town respectively. On June 25, Nanning Municipal People's government issued the notice on adjusting the administrative divisions of some townships (nanfufa No. 70). in 2005, the Luxi brigade and the Academy of forestry communities originally under the jurisdiction of Xingning District were under the jurisdiction of Anning street, XIXIANGTANG district. On June 25, Nanning Municipal People's government issued the notice on adjusting the administrative divisions of some towns and townships (nanfufa No. 70): it agreed to abolish Xinwei town and Shibu town and change them into streets; abolish fufu Township and Nalong town and merge them into Tanluo town and Jinling town respectively. So far, it has jurisdiction over 10 streets and 3 towns: Hengyang street, Beihu street, XiXiangTang street, Anji street, Huaqiang street, Xinyang street, Shangyao street, Anning street, Shibu street, Xinwei street, Jinling Town, Shuangding town and Tanluo town. In 2006, XiXiangTang District adjusted the administrative scope of sub district offices. This time, the administrative scope of the sub district office has not been adjusted much. Except for XiXiangTang sub district office and Shibu sub district office, other sub district offices within the jurisdiction have only made minor adjustments. The main scope of adjustment is as follows: (1) the former XiXiangTang sub district office manages the South Railway Luowen forest farm, luowenpo horticultural farm, Gaofeng Forest Farm Yinling branch, Changke branch, Pingfu branch and other units under the management of Shibu sub district office; (2) the former Xinyang sub district office manages the area to the east of Beida South Road under the management of Huaqiang sub district office, with the boundary from Beida South Road to Yong Jiangzhong central line; (3) define the management scope of Shibu and XiXiangTang sub district office, take Luowen Avenue and Zijing road center as the boundary, south of Luowen Avenue and west of Zijing road are managed by Shibu sub district office, north of Luowen Avenue and east of Zijing road are managed by XiXiangTang sub district office; (4) define some flower arranging units in the west of Yongwu road except Xingning District Large units or enterprises in the west of Yongwu Road (branches or subordinate enterprises), the rest of the unit as a whole under the management of Anning Street office. On August 1, the new scope of administration came into effect at zero o'clock. By the end of 2009, XIXIANGTANG district had a total area of 1298 square kilometers (including the land occupied by the units directly under the central government, the autonomous region and the city). The total population is 779700, including 262100 agricultural population and 288900 Zhuang population. It has jurisdiction over 10 streets, 3 towns, 76 communities, 69 administrative villages and 372 natural villages (PO and Tun). Xinwei street is entrusted by Nanning high tech Industrial Development Zone.
