Guxian county is a county under the jurisdiction of Linfen City, Shanxi Province. It is located in the northeast of Linfen City, the south foot of Taiyue Mountain, the middle and upper reaches of Fenhe River and Jianhe river, adjacent to Anze in the East, Hongdong in the west, Yaodu and Fushan in the south, Huozhou and Qinyuan in the north.
Guxian County governs 4 towns, 3 townships, 6 communities and 73 administrative villages, with a total area of 1206 square kilometers and a permanent population of 96000.
In 2013, the GDP of Guxian County reached 5.14 billion yuan. Gu county is Lin Xiangru's hometown, with Sanhe peony scenic spot and other famous scenic spots, as well as the provincial key cultural relics protection unit of reliu Guandi temple. Guxian county was awarded the national health county (township) in 2018. In May 2019, the people's Government of Shanxi Province approved the withdrawal of Guxian from poverty-stricken counties.
In November 2020, Guxian was selected as the sixth national civilized city.
Evolution of organizational system
In the first year of emperor Xiaozhuang's Jianyi reign in the Northern Wei Dynasty (A.D. 528), a county was built in the territory. It was named Anze County after the first two names of Anji and Zequan. The county was governed by Guyue Village (Guyang village, Guyang Town, Jinggu County) in the south of Anji and the north of Zequan, which was under the jurisdiction of Yining County.
In the 16th year of kaihuang (596 AD), Anze County was assigned to Qinzhou.
In the second year of Daye of Sui Dynasty (AD 606), it was renamed Yueyang County, which was subordinate to Linfen county. The county government was moved to xichibi (Jiuxian Town, Jiuxian village, ancient county).
In the second year of Wude (619 AD), dongchibao (Dongchi village, Chafang Township, Jingu county) and Yueyang City (Chengguan village, Yueyang Town, Jingu county) were transferred to Jinzhou in the sixth year of Zhenguan (632 AD).
During the Five Dynasties, Yueyang County was changed to Linfen county. In Song Dynasty, it belonged to Jinzhou.
In the second year of the Yuan Dynasty (1342 AD), Jishi and Hechuan entered Yueyang, and the three counties merged into Yueyang County. In the fourth year of Zhizheng reign, it was renamed Jishi county and transferred to the present Jishi County of Anze County. In the 13th year of Zhizheng reign, it was still renamed Yueyang and transferred to the city of Yueyang, belonging to Pingyang Prefecture.
In 1914, Yueyang County was renamed Anze County, still governing Yueyang, belonging to Hedong road. During the Anti Japanese War (1938-1941), Anze County, Yueyang County and Jishi county were set up. In 1938, the county was moved to Hechuan.
Yueyang County was established in Xinfo village in 1940.
In April 1942, the three counties were merged into Anze County, zhiyijing village, belonging to Taiyue District of Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan border region.
In 1949, he ruled Sichuan and returned to southern Shanxi. In May 1951, it was transferred to Fucheng and returned to Linfen.
It was divided in 1971. The county is built between Wanli and Zhangjiagou village in the south of Guanzhen, the old city.
In August 1971, seven townships were designated from Anze County and three townships were designated from Fushan County, and they are ancient counties. They belong to Linfen district administrative office and were established in Yueyang (Chengguan village, Yueyang Town, modern ancient county).
In 1973, a new county was built between Zhangjiagou and Wanli villages in Yueyang town.
On March 6, 2019, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of finance, the Ministry of culture and tourism, and the State Administration of cultural relics announced the list of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics (the first batch), in which ancient counties are included.
