Honggu District Honggu District, located in the outer suburb of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is located in the middle of Gansu Province. It was founded in 1960. It is named after hongguchuan in the east of Xiangtang gorge. Its geographical coordinates are between 102 ° 50 ′ - 102 ° 54 ′ E and 36 ° 19 ′ - 36 ° 21 ′ n. It is not only the throat channel from the mainland to Qinghai and Tibet, but also the strategic channel connecting the Eurasian Continental Bridge. Haishiwan town in Honggu District is the hometown of the first dragon in Asia and Mamen River Dragon.
In October 2014, Honggu Park of Lanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone was successfully declared as the fifth batch of national "urban mineral" demonstration base. On January 25, 2019, it was selected as the national "safe agricultural machinery" Demonstration County in 2018.

In 2008, 18 communities in Honggu District were renamed. The specific conditions are as follows: 1. Yaojie Street: the original first, second, third and fourth communities were changed to Heping, Tuanjie, Binhe and Xincun communities in turn; 2. Xiayao Street: the original first, second, third and fourth communities were changed to Yuejin, Xinyue, erpingtai and Shawo communities in turn; 3. In August 1963, eight people's communes of Honggu District, including Heqiao, Liancheng, Yonghe, AOTA, Qishan, Tongyuan, Linping and Xinglong, were assigned to Yongdeng County. Honggu District has four people's communes, namely Yaojie, Honggu, HEZUI and Ping'an, and 34 brigades. In January 1989, Yaojie Township and Yaojie sub district office merged to form Yaojie town. In July 1989, Honggu District government moved from Yaojie to Haishiwan town.
In January 1995, on the basis of Huazhuang sub district office, Huazhuang town was established in four villages of HEZUI Township, namely Huangxing, Huazhuang, sujiasi and HEZUI.
In March 2000, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs officially approved the cancellation of Ping'an Township and the establishment of Ping'an town.
In November 2004, Yaojie town was abolished and Yaojie sub district office was established; HEZUI township was abolished and merged into Huazhuang Town, and the original HEZUI Township People's government was transferred to Xiayao sub district office;

Honggu District is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, on the left bank of Datong River and Huangshui River, which are perennial transit rivers. Datong River is a secondary tributary of the Yellow River, with a length of 16 km and an average annual flow of 90.5 m3 / h. it flows into Huangshui River at Haishiwan. Huangshui River is a first-class tributary of the Yellow River. Before the confluence of Datong River, the annual average flow is 56.13 m3 / h, and the length of the river is 62 km, with the annual average flow of 146.63 m3 / h. There are 48 large and small gullies in Honggu District, 335km long in total, all of which are seasonal gullies. Some gullies are large and deep with large catchment area.
