History of construction
According to archaeological data, in ancient times, there were ancestors living in fugu. The earliest found in the territory is the Neolithic original site about 7000 years ago. Xinzhuangzi site (located in Xinzhuangzi village, miaogoumen township) belongs to Yangshao culture (5000-3000 BC), lianchengmao site (located in lianchengmao village, miaogoumen township) belongs to Yangshao Longshan Culture (2800-2300 BC), and Zhujiawan and Qiaogou beigaimao, Dashibao and xiaoshibao sites belong to Longshan culture.
During the Xia and Shang Dynasties (about 21-11 BC), it was in the territory of Zhai people in Yongzhou to serve the local people. The Western Zhou Dynasty (11bc-770bc) belongs to Yuzhong area in Guyang, which is a part of Baizhai in Yongzhou.
In the spring and Autumn period (770-475 BC), Baizhai was still in the state of Jin. (it is said to be the land of Linhu people). During the Warring States period (475-221 BC), it belonged to the state of Wei and later to the state of Zhao.
Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC) was Shangjun.
In the Western Han Dynasty (206-23 BC), Fuchang county (northeast of Fugu County and south of Zhungeer banner) was established, belonging to Xihe county. Wang Mang changed his name to Fucheng county.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220), it was abolished, and its jurisdiction was incorporated into Pingding County (the south of Zhungeer banner and the west of Fugu County).
During the Wei and Jin Dynasties (220-420), it was the territory of Xiongnu. The Eastern Jin Dynasty belongs to the great Xia state of Helian (its capital is baichengzi, Jingbian County).
In the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534), Wuyuan County was located in Guyang and Yongan. In the Northern Zhou Dynasty (557-581), Yincheng county was located in the north of Shenmu county and Fugu County. In Sui Dynasty (581-618), Yincheng county was established. In 590, Fuchang county was reestablished in the north and Yincheng County in the south.
Tang Dynasty (618-907) belongs to Linzhou. At the beginning, it was Fugu town. After Kaiyuan, the county was divided into Yincheng and Xinqin counties.
After the Five Dynasties, Tang Tianyou was promoted to a county in the seventh year (910) and to a prefecture and lingfugu County in the eighth year (911). Before long, due to the invasion of Liao state, he moved to liuderenbao, which is now Fugu County. Yongan army was established at the beginning of the later Han Dynasty, Fuzhou was still established in the first year of Qianyou (948), and Yongan army was restored in the first year of Zhou Xiande (954).
In Song Dynasty (960-1279), it was still a prefecture and lingfugu county. Huizong Chongning first year (1102), changed to Jingkang army. In the fifth year of Zhenghe (1115), the county was given the name of Ronghe, and then changed to baochengjun. It was set up as a marshal of Linfu road army, and was under the jurisdiction of Taiyuan government on behalf of Zhou road seal. It belonged to Hedong Road, so it was located in Hexi, which was convenient to control Xixia. In the first year of Jingkang (1126), it ceded Lin, Fu and Feng to Xixia. After Jin Zhenyuan (1153-1155), he recovered from Xixia. In the third year of Zhengda (1226), Fugu County was restored and Jianning county was added (the old city was 70 Li northwest of Fugu County).
In the early Yuan Dynasty (1206-1368), Fuzhou was rebuilt and lingfugu county was established. In the sixth year of the Zhiyuan Dynasty (1269), the Prefecture was abolished, and Jianning county was incorporated into Fugu County, which was subordinate to Jiazhou (the Yulin Prefecture annals of Daoguang Edition); in a word, both the prefecture and the county were abolished (the Shaanxi Tongzhi of Yongzheng Edition).
The Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) was Fugu County, belonging to Jiazhou. In the sixth year of Hongwu (1373), it was abolished. In 1380, the county was restored to Jiazhou, Yan'an Prefecture.
In the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), it was still Fugu County and belonged to Yan'an Prefecture at the beginning. Yongzheng three years (1725), changed to Jiazhou. In the first year of Qianlong (1736), it was transferred to Yulin Prefecture.

In 1933, the Shenfu revolutionary base was established, and gradually expanded to the former Kuomintang county government, such as Dabao, Zhenqiang, Tianping and so on. In March 1935, Fugu County Revolutionary Committee was established under the leadership of the Soviet government of Northern Shaanxi Province. In February 1936, Shenfu Northeast Office was established. On April 15, the Shenfu Northeast Office was abolished and the Anti Japanese people's Revolutionary Committee of Shenfu special zone was established. It governed the south of Fugu County and parts of Shenmu county, Yulin County and Jiaxian County, coexisting with Fugu County under the rule of the Kuomintang. On January 28, 1937, the Anti Japanese people's Revolutionary Committee of Shenfu Special Administrative Region was transformed into the Soviet government of Shenfu Special Administrative Region, under the leadership of the Northwest Office of the central government. In July, the Soviet government of Shenfu special zone was changed into Shenfu county government (under the leadership of Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia Border Region Government), coexisting with Fugu County under the rule of Kuomintang. In September 1941, Shenfu county was transferred from Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia border region to Shanxi Suiyuan border region. In November 1947, Fugu County People's government was established under the leadership of Shanxi Suiyuan border region government. In January 1948, after the liberation of madigou, Fugu County, east of Huangfuchuan, Inner Mongolia shilichangtan and some parts of Hequ County in Shanxi Province were merged in March to form Hefu county (the county government is located in madigou), which is under the leadership of Jinsui border region government. In September, Hefu county was withdrawn and Fugu was returned. In June 1949, it was transferred to Yulin District of Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia border region government.
In May 1950, Shenfu county was abolished, and its jurisdiction was divided into Fugu and Shenmu counties. Fugu County belongs to Yulin District of Shaanxi Province. In December 1958, Fugu County was abolished and its jurisdiction was assigned to Shenmu county. The county Party committee and the county people's Committee are located in Chengguan, Shenmu county, under the jurisdiction of the people's Republic of China.
In September 1961, Fugu County was restored to its original state. In March 1968, Fugu County Revolutionary Committee was established under the leadership of Yulin Revolutionary Committee.
In December 1981, Fugu County People's government was restored and subordinate to Yulin district administrative office.
In June 2014, Shaanxi provincial Party committee and provincial government upgraded Fugu County to a pilot county directly under the provincial administration.
