In the Western Zhou Dynasty, it belonged to the two states of Qing and Yang.
In the spring and Autumn period, Zhou came to the state and was later destroyed by the state of Chu. In August of the second year of King Zhou Jian (584 BC), Wu came to Zhou. In the seventh year of King Zhou (538 BC), Chu ran came to Dancheng. In the 16th year of King Zhou Jing (529 BC), Wu came to destroy the state. After Ji Zha granted the title of Yanling, he governed the state and came to the city, so it was named yanzhoulai. In the winter and November of the 27th year of King Jing of Zhou (493 BC), Wu moved Marquis Cai Zhaohou from new CAI of Henan Province to zhoulai, so he changed his name to Xiacai. After five dynasties of Zhao, Cheng, yuan and Qi, it lasted 47 years.

geographical environment
Location context
Fengtai County is located in the middle reaches of Huaihe River in the north of Anhui Province, adjacent to Huainan City in the East, Lixin County and Mengcheng County in Bozhou City in the north, Yingshang County in the west, and Shouxian County across Huaihe River in the south. The county is inclined in Southeast and northwest, between 32 ° 33 ′ - 33 ° N and 116 ° 21 ′ - 116 ° 56 ′ e, with a total area of 894 square kilometers. The county is 810 kilometers away from Beijing, 111 kilometers away from Hefei and 30 kilometers away from Huainan.
topographic features
The terrain in Fengtai County inclines from northwest to Southeast, with altitude ranging from 40 to 19.45 meters. The natural gradient of the ground is 1 / 7000 to 1 / 10000. Due to the changes of rivers, the interaction of sedimentation, the erosion and accumulation of the Yellow River and Huaihe River, and the influence of human activities, the geomorphic characteristics of "big flat and small uneven" are formed. In the north of Huaihe River, the ground is flat and broad; along both sides of Huaihe River and xifeihe River, sediment was deposited due to the flood in previous flood seasons, forming a "floodplain" of 0.5-2 km (i.e. low-lying Bay land). At the junction of xifeihe River and Huaihe River, due to the flood peak of Huaihe River, it overflowed to the southwest and scoured repeatedly, which widened and silted the river surface and formed the estuary of Dongfeng Lake. The typical "Oxbow tide" depression of Jiaogang lake was formed because of the flood of Huaihe River and the obstruction of land chemical deposit. To the south of Jiaogang lake is a natural dike, which is a gentle hill formed by sediment carried by the frequently overflowing Huaihe River. The South Bank of the Huaihe River connects with the Jianghuai hills, with limestone residual hills in some parts, and the ridge is a low hill type of denudation structure from east to west.
Climatic characteristics
Fengtai County is located in the middle reaches of Huaihe River, which belongs to subtropical monsoon climate. It is an area where cold and warm air meet frequently, with mild climate and moderate rainfall. It has four distinct seasons, long summer and winter, short spring and autumn, sufficient light, and is obviously affected by the monsoon. The interannual variation of precipitation is large, and the seasonal distribution is uneven, resulting in local flood and drought. The frost free period is longer, with more southeast wind and southwest wind from April to September.
According to the records of meteorological data from 1949 to 1985, the annual average temperature of the whole county is 15.1 ℃. January is the coldest month with an average temperature of 1.1 ℃; July is the hottest month with an average temperature of 28 ℃. The average annual temperature difference is 26.9 ℃. The extreme maximum temperature was 41.1 ℃ on August 24, 1959, and the extreme minimum temperature was - 21.7 ℃ on January 31, 1969.
