Evolution of organizational system
Yadong, once belonged to palizong in history, was the name of a small mountain village in zhuomu Valley in the early period of Yadong.
Before the 7th century, the area of Pali in Yadong county was ruled by the kingdom of luoang in Gyangze area.
In the third year of Tang Zhenguan (629), some parts of Yadong were managed by "cuoedongbuqiong", one of the 1000 households under "Jura", one of the five Juras established by the Tubo regime.
In the second half of the 8th century, tsanpu chisongdezan of Tubo gave Pali area to Gui family as one of its fiefdoms, which was called the upper part of GUI family.
In the late 9th century, the Tubo regime collapsed, and most of the Yadong area (including today's Sikkim, Bhutan, etc.) was still ruled by the "Gui" clan for hundreds of years.
In the 15th century, the descendant of the local leader PABA besanbu family in Gyangze was known as the Fawang family in Gyangze. The jurisdiction of Yadong county is basically under the rule of the Fawang family.
In the 15th year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1642, the 11th Rao Jishui Ma year of the Tibetan calendar), during the period of Tibet's local power, palizong was officially established in Pali, and rinazong (now in Sikkim) was established in Yadong, which became one of the 14 frontier Zongs under the jurisdiction of Tibet's local government, and was managed by officials appointed by Tibet's local government.
In 1888, the British invaded Tibet, and Yadong was forced to be a commercial port by the British Empire.
In August 1960, Tibet carried out democratic reform, and the CPC Gyangze sub working committee abolished palizong and established Yadong county.
In May 1964, the Gyangze area was merged with the Shigatse area, and Yadong was assigned to the Shigatse area. The county government is stationed in xiasima town.
In July 2014, Shigatse was established as a city, and Yadong county belongs to Shigatse City.
