In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), when Yuan Shikai appointed the name of a county in the whole country, because Qingjiang had the same name as Qingjiang County in Jiangsu Province, he proposed to change Qingshui to Qingshui County in Gansu Province, so he took the saying "Qingjiang was named Jianhe in ancient times" in Qianlong's Qingjiang annals, and changed Qingjiang hall to Jianhe County, which is still in use today;
It was liberated in March 1950 and established the people's political power, belonging to Zhenyuan district;
In July 1956, Zhenyuan district was abolished and has been subordinate to Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture;
In January 1959, Jinzhong and Liuhe of Taijiang county and Shibing county were merged into Jianhe County, which is still called Jianhe county;

In Yuan Dynasty, nanmu cave belonged to the military and civilian pacification Department of Sizhou. Ming Yongle five years (1372) set up Yixi South cave Manyi long lawsuit, belong to the state Xuanwei division; six years (1373) set up Yixi two river inspection division; twelve years (1379), belong to Xinhua mansion; Xuande nine years (1434) change Li Ping mansion. In the 22nd year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, the Chief Secretary of Yixi Nandong was abolished; in the 7th year of Yongzheng period, Qingjiang hall was set up, and Zhenyuan Tongzhi was stationed separately; in the 10th year (1732), Qingjiang town was set up; in the 12th year (1734), Qingjiang Tongzhi was moved to Taigong, and Zhenyuan Tongzhi was stationed separately, and the former Prime Minister of Liuji County of Tianzhu County was changed to Zhenyuan.
In 1913, qingjiangting was changed into Jianhe County, belonging to qiandongdao County; in 1914, Liuji county was set up as Liuji sub County, belonging to Jianhe County; in 1923, it directly belonged to the province; in 1935, it belonged to the tenth administrative supervision district; in 1936, it belonged to the seventh administrative supervision district; in the same year, Liuji sub county was abolished and merged into Jianhe County; in 1937, it belonged to Jianhe county Later, it was the first administrative supervision district.
In 1950, it belonged to Zhenyuan special region. In 1956, it was assigned to Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture. In 1958, it merged Taijiang County, and in 1962, it separated Taijiang county.
On February 20, 2003, Guizhou Provincial People's Government approved to change the subordinate relationship of Gedong town in Taijiang county and put it under the jurisdiction of Jianhe county. The administrative boundaries of Taijiang and Jianhe counties will be changed accordingly.
In 2005, the people's Government of Jianhe County moved from Liuchuan town to Gedong town.
