Shibing County Shibing county is located in the Middle East of Guizhou Province and the northwest of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture. It is the junction of Qiandongnan, Tongren and Zunyi. There are Bashi mountain and Bingshui in its territory. It is named "Shibing" after its landscape.
Shibing county is adjacent to Zhenyuan County in the East, Shiqian County in Tongren County in the north, Taijiang County in the south, Guangxi county in the south, Jianhe County in the southeast, and Yuqing County in Zunyi area in the west, with a total area of 1543.8 square kilometers. The county is located in the transition zone from the second step of Yunnan Guizhou Plateau to the first step of Eastern hilly plain. Shibing county was established in the ninth year of Zhengtong in the Ming Dynasty.
Under the jurisdiction of Shibing County, the Yin and Zhou Dynasties (771 BC) belonged to Guifang. In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Yao. During the Warring States period, it belonged to dayelang state. In the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Xiang county.
In the first year of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty (110bc), Pianqiao and other places in the Northwest were subordinate to Qielan County, and the Southeast (now Shengbing and other places) were subordinate to Wuling county. From the northern and Southern Dynasties to the Northern Zhou Dynasty, they belonged to nanjue county and dongjue county respectively.
In the third year of Daye of Sui Dynasty (607), Pianqiao and other areas belonged to juezhou County, while Shengbing and other areas belonged to Chenzhou Yuanling County.
In the Tang Dynasty, the county was changed to Dao, with Qianzhong Dao to the west of Pianqiao and Lingnan to the East. Tianbao three years (744), subordinate to Chongzhou, Pianqiao and other places under the jurisdiction of Donglin County, Shengbing under the jurisdiction of Zhaoming county. In Song Dynasty, it belonged to datianxidongdi of Juzhou.
