Shuangpai County Shuangpai County, so called longpo, was established in 1969 in Lingling, Daoxian and Ningyuan mountainous areas. It is a county under the jurisdiction of Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. Shuangpai County is located in the south of Hunan Province, in the middle reaches of Xiaoshui. National Highway 207, Yonglian highway and Erguang Expressway run through the north and south. Shuangpai County, with a forest coverage rate of over 80%, is a key forest area and county in China.
Shuangpai is rich in tourism resources and is a strong tourism County in Hunan Province. Yangmingshan National Forest Park, Shuangpai reservoir dam and Yongzhou tongziao scenic area are all located in Shuangpai County.
In July 2019, it won the title of "China's natural oxygen bar" establishment area in 2019. On January 29, 2021, it was selected into the list of areas with remarkable achievements in real work in 2020 announced by Hunan Provincial People's government.
Historical evolution
Shuangpai County was formerly known as Xiaoshui Forest Management Bureau established in 1964 in Lingling county (now Lingling district), Dao County and Ningyuan county. On December 16, 1969, with the approval of the State Council, Xiaoshui Forest Management Bureau was abolished and Shuangpai County was established. The administrative region of Shuangpai County was the former Xiaoshui Forest Management Bureau.
In 1978, the administrative region of Shuangpai County was partially adjusted: he xianguan people's Commune and state-owned damiaotou forest farm were assigned to Lingling County, state-owned Qiaotou and Yueyan forest farm were assigned to Dao County, huangtang and Baiyunshan forest farm were assigned to Ningyuan County; Wulipai people's commune of Lingling County, and Shuangfeng brigade of Lijiaping people's Commune and Chetou people's commune of Dao County were assigned to Shuangpai County.
In 1986, pingfutou township of Zhishan District (now Lingling district) was designated as Shuangpai County. In 1994, Wulipai township was abolished and Wulipai town was established. In September 1995, cailikou township was merged into Hejiadong Township, Linjiang Township into shangwujiang Yao Township, and Chengguan town was renamed longpo town. In 2012, wuxingling township was established under the jurisdiction of wuxingling forest farm and Daguping township was established under the jurisdiction of Daguping Forest Farm.
In 1996, Shuangpai County covered an area of 1737 square kilometers with a population of about 164000. It has jurisdiction over 3 towns and 9 townships (including 1 ethnic township): longpo Town, Wulipai town and Jiangcun town; Hejiadong Township, Lijiaping Township, Tangdi Township, Majiang Township, ChaLin Township, pingfutou Township, shangrenli Township, Yongjiang Township and shangwujiang Yao township. The county government is located in longpo town.
According to the fifth census in 2000, there are 161510 permanent residents in Shuangpai County, including 38003 in longpo Town, 17062 in Jiangcun Town, 15579 in Wulipai Town, 8182 in pingfutou Township, 4747 in shangrenli Township, 4465 in Yongjiang Township, 10501 in Hejiadong Township, 19004 in Lijiaping Township, 13156 in shangwujiang Township, 10080 in Tangdi Township, 8702 in Majiang Township and 12029 in ChaLin township.

According to the sixth census in 2010, there are 164947 permanent residents in Shuangpai County, including 56360 in longpo Town, 16357 in Jiangcun Town, 13555 in Wulipai Town, 6867 in pingfutou Township, 3894 in shangrenli Township, 3766 in Yongjiang Township, 9055 in Hejiadong Township, 7251 in Majiang Township, 8292 in ChaLin Township, 4818 in Tangdi Township, 10587 in shangwujiang Yao Township, 13900 in Lijiaping Township, and Shuangpai Daguping township There are 3933 people in the forest farm, 3634 people in Shuangpai wuxingling forest farm and 2678 people in Shuangpai Yangmingshan forest farm.
In 2011, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs approved the establishment of wuxingling Township under the jurisdiction of wuxingling forest farm and Daguping Township under the jurisdiction of Daguping Forest Farm. The newly established wuxingling township has jurisdiction over 11 villages including Chaoyang, Changtan, Wuxing, sunjiaping, Chenjia, yangmingwan, zaohetian, Heping, dayaluo, daxingjiang and baiguojiao, with an area of 172 square kilometers and a population of 11900. The Township People's government is located in Changtan. The newly established Daguping township has jurisdiction over 7 villages including Daguping, xiheyuan, dongheyuan, xiaonantou, huangtui, Shuangfeng and Danjiang Village, an area of 112 square kilometers, population of 10800 people, Township People's government resident Daguping. On September 19, 2012, wuxingling township government was officially established.
On April 23, 2018, the Hunan provincial government agreed to lift Shuangpai County out of poverty.
