Pu'an County Pu'an County is subordinate to Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province, 89 kilometers away from Xingyi City, the capital of Guizhou Province. Located in the southwest of Guizhou Province, the name of the county implies "under the heaven, all living beings, live in peace".

History of construction
Pu'an began in the spring and Autumn period. The word "Pu" originated from the homonym of "Pu" (ren), and "an" was "anding". Pu'an is the place where puyue people live safely.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it belonged to Yelang state.

In the 11th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (1413), Annam Wei Xinxing office was attached to the Department of political envoys of Guizhou.
In the 20th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1592), Xinxing Institute was attached to Annan Wei Gai and attached to Anshun Prefecture.
In 1661, Pu'an County was set up in Shunzhi of Qing Dynasty.
In 1683, the county government was moved from Xincheng office to Xinxing Office (now Pu'an County). At the same time, Xingren, xingrang Erli, Aji and Anyi Erying of nananwei were separated from Pu'an County.

In December 1949, the people's Liberation Committee of Pu'an County was formally established. It is located in Panshui town and has five administrative regions, including two towns and nine townships.
In March 1950, the people's Government of Pu'an County was formally established, changing the original five administrative regions into three administrative regions.
In July 1952, Xingren district was renamed Xingyi District, and then Pu'an County was changed into a subordinate County; in April 1953, Pu'an County was divided into 44 townships.
In July 1956, Xingyi district was abolished, and Pu'an County was changed into Anshun district. In the same year, the first district of Pu'an County was renamed as digua District, the second district as Qingshan District, the third district as Xingzhong District, and the fourth district as Panshui district. In December 1958, the jurisdiction of Qinglong County was incorporated into Pu'an County and located in Panshui town.
In 1959, people's communization was implemented, and the county was divided into 8 people's communes and 71 administrative areas.
In August 1961, Qinglong County was restored. All the districts and townships under the jurisdiction of Qinglong County were assigned to Qinglong County. Pu'an County was divided into four communes, namely, sweet potato commune, Qingshan commune, Xingzhong commune and Panshui commune. In March 1962, the grand commune was abolished, four administrative districts were restored, and 33 administrative districts were adjusted and planned to 22 communes.
In July 1965, Xingyi district was restored, and Pu'an County was under the jurisdiction of Xingyi district.
In the "Cultural Revolution" in 1967, the people's Committee of Pu'an County was renamed the Revolutionary Committee of Pu'an County, which was subordinate to the Revolutionary Committee of Xingyi region.
In 1970, Xingyi district was renamed Xingyi District, and Pu'an County was under the jurisdiction of Xingyi district.
On May 1, 1982, Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture was established, and Pu'an County was under the jurisdiction of Qianxinan Prefecture.
In April 1984, the name of the commune was changed to Township, Panshui town was upgraded to district level town, and in July, the two communes, guankuangyao and Qingshan, were abolished.
In December 1986, the administrative region was divided into four districts, one district level town, 34 townships and two township level towns.
In January 1992, four districts of sweet potato, Qingshan, Xingzhong and Panshui were abolished, and eight towns and six townships were set up.
In September 2007, the 44 administrative districts set up in towns and townships were abolished, and the original 167 villages, 3 communities and 1264 villager groups were integrated into 75 villages, 14 communities, 1094 villager groups and 169 resident groups.

On January 23, 2015, the people's Government of Guizhou Province approved Pu'an County to abolish the organizational system of 8 townships (towns) including Panshui Town, Qingshan Town, sanbanqiao Town, guankuangyao Town, woyan Township, xuepu Township, Xindian Township and Luohan Township, and set up new Panshui street, Nanhu street, Qingshan town, Xingzhong Town, Xindian town and Luohan town. Panshui street has jurisdiction over Gaoxing village, Hongxing Village, yunpan community, Putian community and woyan township (except Tianba Village) in Panshui Town, Baishi Village in Po Town, Jiangxi Province, and Lianhua village in digua town. The office is located in Putian community. Nanhu Street governs the former sanbanqiao Town, Dawan village and Nanhu community of Panshui Town, and the office is located in Nanhu community. Qingshan town governs the former Qingshan town and xuepu Township, and the town people's government is located in xiajie community. Xingzhong town governs yuanguanyao town and Tianba village of yuanwoyan township. The people's Government of Xingzhong town is located in Xingguang community. Xindian town governs the original Xindian Township, and the town people's government is stationed in Xindian community. In July 2019, Guizhou Provincial People's Government approved the establishment of Chayuan street and Jiufeng street in Pu'an County. Chayuan Street governs the tea farm community, NACHA community, doutan Dayin community, Lianmeng village and Xizhai village in the former Jiangxi Po Town, and the sub district office is located in the tea farm community. Jiufeng Street governs Banqiao community, Baochong village, Jiufeng village and Yunzhuang village of Nanhu street, and the sub district office is located in Banqiao community.
