Shuicheng District Shuicheng district is one of the central districts of Liupanshui, Guizhou Province. It is located in the west of Guizhou Province, bordering Yunnan Province. It is located in the watershed between Wujiang River and Beipan River. It is adjacent to Liuzhi special zone and Nayong County in the East, Weining County and Xuanwei City in Yunnan Province in the west, panzhou city and Pu'an County in the south, and Zhongshan District in the city in the north. Shuicheng district is one of the key coal producing counties in China for its excellent coal quality, complete variety and easy mining. The former administrative region of Shuicheng County (excluding Baohua Town, muguo Town, Nankai Miao Yi Township, Jinpen Miao Yi Township and Qinglin Miao Yi township) is the administrative region of Shuicheng district. History of construction
Hanyang county was built in 221 BC in the 26th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty. Now Shuicheng County is under the jurisdiction of Hanyang county.
In the first year of Xinmang's founding (9 years), Hanyang county was changed to Xintong County, and Hanyang county was renamed in the Eastern Han Dynasty.

Tang Gaozong general chapter two years (669), belongs to Tang Wangzhou.
In the seventh year of Kaibao of Song Dynasty (974), it belonged to Lu Lu Department of Luo's ghost state.

In 1664, Wu Sangui attacked Shuixi and declared comfort to Ankun. In 1666, Dading Prefecture was established on the basis of Ankun, and Shuicheng belonged to Dading Prefecture. In 1733, Yongzheng built Shuicheng hall, which was under the jurisdiction of Yongshun and Changping.
In 1776, Chongxin, Shifeng, and Suiren Three Li water city hall in Pingyuan prefecture (now Zhijin County) were designated.
In 1913, it was changed into Shuicheng County, which was subordinate to guixidao; in 1923, it was subordinate to Guizhou Province; in 1935, it was subordinate to the fourth administrative supervision district (Bijie).
Since 1949, it has been under Bijie Prefecture.
In 1965, another Shuicheng mining area was set up in the county.
In 1966, ten communes, such as Dahe and Wangjiazhai, were designated as Shuicheng special zone, which belongs to southwest coal construction headquarters and coexists with the county.
In 1970, Shuicheng mining area and Shuicheng County were merged into Shuicheng special zone, which belongs to Liupanshui area.
In 1978, it was subordinate to Liupanshui City, one of the three special districts.
In 1987, it was restored.
On May 20, 2003, the residence of Shuicheng County People's government was moved from Huangtupo sub district office of Zhongshan District, Liupanshui City to Lanba Town, Shuicheng County.
In 2011, Shuicheng County governs one town and 32 townships (including 29 ethnic townships).
On February 22, 2013, the township of muguo Yi and Miao was abolished and muguo town was set up, with the town government stationed in Shuanghe village; the township of bide Miao Yi was abolished and bide town was set up, with the town government stationed in bide village; the township of Baohua Yi and Miao was abolished and Baohua town was set up, with the town government stationed in Jiahe village. On May 21, Guizhou provincial government approved to put the renovation system of Laoyingshan town in Zhongshan District under the jurisdiction of Shuicheng County. After the adjustment, Shuicheng County has jurisdiction over 5 towns and 28 townships (including 25 ethnic townships).
On June 4, 2015, with the approval of the provincial people's government, the administrative division was adjusted to 4 streets, 13 towns and 13 ethnic townships.
On November 9, 2017, Guizhou Provincial People's government officially issued the "Reply of Guizhou Provincial People's Government on agreeing to put Shilong village, Shiqiao community and Shuanglong community in Fenghuang street of Zhongshan District under the jurisdiction of Shuangshui street of Shuicheng County" (QFH [2017] No. 222). The reply: it is agreed to put Shilong village, Shiqiao community and Shuanglong community in Fenghuang street of Zhongshan District under the jurisdiction of Shuangshui street of Shuicheng County.
In July 2020, the State Council officially approved some administrative divisions of Liupanshui City: Baohua Town, muguo Town, Nankai Miao Yi Township, Jinpen Miao Yi Township and Qinglin Miao Yi township of Shuicheng County will be put under the jurisdiction of Zhongshan District of Liupanshui City; Shuicheng County will be abolished and Shuicheng District of Liupanshui City will be established as the administrative region of original Shuicheng County (excluding Baohua Town, muguo town and Nankai Miao Yi township) The people's Government of Shuicheng district is located at No. 1 Shuangshui Avenue, Shuangshui street.

In September 2017, the fourth plenary meeting of the seventh Committee of Zhongshan District of Liupanshui City of the Communist Party of China was held. The meeting voted and passed the resolution of the fourth plenary meeting of the seventh Committee of Zhongshan District of Liupanshui City of the Communist Party of China on putting Baohua Town, muguo Town, Nankai Town, Jinpen Town, Qinglin town of Shuicheng County under the jurisdiction of Zhongshan District. The meeting decided to approve Baohua Town, muguo town and Nankai town of Shuicheng County Kai Township, Jinpen Township and Qinglin township are under the jurisdiction of Zhongshan District.
In July 2019, Guizhou Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of some administrative divisions in Shuicheng County, and agreed to set up Haiping street, Xinqiao street, Yiduo street, Shilong street and Hongqiao street in Shuicheng County.

The main rivers flowing through Shuicheng district are Beipan River and Sancha River. Beipan River is a tributary of the upper reaches of Hongshui River in the Pearl River system, with a transit length of 79 km. There are 14 tributaries including Xiangshui River, Kedu River, Guniu River, Yueyue River and Wuhe river. Sancha River is a tributary of the upper reaches of Wujiang River in the Yangtze River system, with a transit length of 77 km. Its tributaries include Lianshan River, ale River, Wanquan River and Huale river.

By 2013, 31 kinds of coal, iron, lead, zinc, manganese, dolomite, clay and marble have been proved, and more than 100 ore deposits and occurrences have been found in 33 towns of the county. The dominant mineral is coal, with proven reserves of 5.1 billion tons and recoverable capacity of 4.5 billion tons. Shuicheng's coal is characterized by excellent quality, complete variety and easy mining.
