The underground mineral resources in Xinqiu area are mainly coal, which is located in the northeast edge of Yiwulu Mountain Uplift and Fuxin northern uplift, and belongs to Mesozoic Jurassic. In 1897, Xinqiu dug out the first shovel of coal in Fuxin area, and the coal mining lasted for more than 100 years. In December 2018, all coal mines in Xinqiu district were closed and withdrawn in accordance with the requirements of coal de production capacity in Liaoning Province, and the coal mining industry in Xinqiu was completely ended. Coal gangue is rich in resources with reserves of nearly 500 million cubic meters, mainly distributed in the southeast of Xinqiu, covering an area of about 24 square kilometers.
