The main tourist attractions of Shuifu city are: Western Grand Canyon hot spring, shuifugang, Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station, Tongluoba National Forest Park, etc., which have won the honorary titles of national health county and national civilization county.
Historical evolution
Before the founding of the county, Shuifu had different geographical affiliations and had no independent system.
During the Qin and Han Dynasties, Shuifu was the area where Bo people lived.
From the Shu Han Dynasty to the Western Jin Dynasty, the Three Kingdoms belonged to Bodao County, Qianwei County, Yizhou.
In 544, Emperor Liangwu of the Southern Dynasty established Rongzhou in Bodao, and Shuifu belonged to Rongzhou. In 563, Emperor Chen Wendi changed Rongzhou into Waijiang County, and Shuifu belonged to Waijiang county.
Kaibian County belonged to the sixth year of kaihuang (586) of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty, and still belonged to kaibian County until the second year of zongyongtai (776) of Tang Dynasty.
In the fifth year of Qiande of Song Dynasty (967), kaibian was abandoned and entered Bodao County of Qianwei county (now Yibin City). In Nanzhao state of Tang Dynasty, kaibian County, west of Zhuti River, including Shuifu County, belonged to Tuodong Jiedu and governed aban. In 1114, Bodao county was changed into Yibin County in the fourth year of the reign of Emperor Huizong of Song Dynasty.
Yuan Dynasty belongs to Yibin County, Xuzhou Road, Sichuan Province. In Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Yibin County, the capital of Xuzhou Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
In the Qing Dynasty, most of the counties belonged to Yibin County, the capital of Xuzhou Prefecture in Sichuan Province. Most of Yunfu belonged to kaibian township of Yibin County. After Guangxu, it was renamed Anbian township. Xiangjiaba town belonged to shuiguohe township of Yibin County. Liangwan town belonged to yanjingdu Inspection Department of Daguan Department of Zhaotong Prefecture in Yunnan Province. Today, Xinan village, Xinshou village and Taiping Town belong to Yongshan County of Zhaotong Prefecture in Yunnan Province. In 1908, Yongshan County was divided into Jingjiang counties. In 1910, it was officially approved as Jingjiang county. Xin'an, Xinshou and Taiping towns belong to Jingjiang County, Zhaotong Prefecture, Yunnan Province.
In 1913, Daguan hall was renamed Daguan County, and Liangwan town belonged to Daguan county.
In 1914, Jingjiang county was renamed Suijiang County, and Xin'an, Xinshou and Taiping towns belonged to Suijiang County.
In 1917, Daguan county was divided into Yanjin County, and Liangwan town belonged to Yanjin County.
After the founding of new China, Shuifu county now belongs to Yibin County of Sichuan Province, Suijiang County and Yanjin County of Zhaotong Prefecture of Yunnan Province.
In April 1974, Yunnan natural gas chemical plant was located in gunkanba (now shuifucheng District) of Anfu brigade, Anfu commune, Yibin County, Sichuan Province. The State Council approved that Shuidong commune, ShuiHe commune and Anfu commune in Yibin County, Sichuan Province were included in Yunnan Province, and Shuifu district was established on July 1 of the same year. The name of Shuifu is derived from Shuidong, ShuiHe and Anfu.
On August 14, 1981, the State Council agreed to set up Shuifu county with the two brigades of Taiping commune and Huiyi commune in Suijiang County, Xinan and Xinshou commune in Yanjin County and Shuifu district. On October 1 of the same year, Shuifu county was officially established.
On September 7, 2018, with the approval of the State Council, it was agreed to abolish Shuifu county and establish Shuifu city at the county level. The administrative region of Shuifu county is Shuifu city. The people's Government of Shuifu city is located at No. 3, Renmin East Road, Yunfu street. Shuifu city is directly under the central government of Yunnan Province and managed by Zhaotong City.

The average annual rainfall is 1170 mm, the sunshine hours are about 749 hours, the relative humidity is about 82%, and the frost free period is 300-340 days. Shuifu is rich in water resources. Except Jinsha River and Hengjiang River, the surface water is 3.6 billion cubic meters, and the total amount of groundwater is 5246 cubic meters. There are large hydropower reserves. Hengjiang can develop four cascade hydropower stations with a development capacity of 202000 kW. By 2013, Shuifu county has two hydropower stations with an installed capacity of 2320 kW and an annual power generation capacity of 8 million kwh, namely Zhangwo hydropower station and Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station.
Since it was put into operation in 2006, Zhangwo hydropower station has generated 280 million kwh a year. Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station was fully put into operation on July 10, 2014.
Biological resources
As of 2017, the coverage rate of Shuifu forest has reached 45.1%, with a wide range of wild animals and plants. Tongluoba National Forest Park, with a total area of 77000 mu, has 139 species of trees belonging to 108 genera and 62 families. There are 6 species of animals and plants under first-class national protection, 25 species of animals and plants under second-class national protection, nearly 3000 families of biological species, and more than 100 species of animals. There are 121 species in 34 families of Chinese herbal medicine.
Geothermal resources
Xintanba hot spring, located on the South Bank of Jinsha River in the western suburb of shuifucheng District, has developed into the Western Grand Canyon hot spring scenic spot with a wellhead pressure of 43 kggm2, a water temperature of 85 ℃, a flow rate of 0.05 m3 / s and an annual water output of 1.572 million m3; the hot spring in Liangwan township has a wellhead pressure of 37 kg / cm2, a water temperature of 96 ℃, a flow rate of 0.015 m3 / s and an annual water output of 513400 m3 , yet to be developed.

In 2012, there were 18 ethnic groups in Shuifu, including Han, Miao, Hui and Yi. The minority population was 4335, accounting for 4.1% of the total population. Among them, the Miao population was 3826, accounting for 88.25% of the minority population. They mainly lived in Sanjiao village of Liangwan Township, and the rest scattered in Chengfeng village, Liangwan village, Huatan village of Liangwan Township, Erxi village and Fuxing village of Taiping Township.
