Guang'an District Guang'an District, under the jurisdiction of Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, is located in the east of Sichuan Basin, the West foot of the middle Huaying Mountain and the West Bank of Qujiang River. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Guang'an City. Adjacent to Qu county, Peng'an County, Qianfeng District, Yuechi County and Huaying City, it is Deng Xiaoping's hometown.
Guang'an District vigorously implements the "1235" development strategy, that is, to rise the "one" new town of Guansheng new area, to build the "two" centers of Chengdu Chongqing Economic Zone regional modern business service center and Western China ecological and cultural tourism center, to strengthen the "three" construction of Sichuan Chongqing cooperation demonstration area, new urbanization and agricultural modernization, and to promote Thanksgiving commemoration, smooth transportation, farmland water conservancy and ecological civilization "Five major" projects to improve people's livelihood.
In October 2017, Guang'an District passed the national special assessment and inspection, and was officially approved by the people's Government of Sichuan Province to withdraw from poverty-stricken areas and counties.
Historical evolution
In the spring and Autumn period, it belongs to the state of Ba, and in the Qin Dynasty, it belongs to Dangqu county. From Han Dynasty to Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Dangqu county. In the Southern Dynasty, Jianxian county was first named Shi'an, and later renamed Zongcheng and Qujiang. In the Song Dynasty, Guang'an army was set up with the meaning of "Guang'an collection of tu'an", from which Guang'an got its name.
In 522, Emperor Liangwu of the Southern Dynasty divided part of Dangqu into Shi'an County, which is located in Shi'an city and belongs to beidangqu county. In 559, beidangqu county was changed into Liujiang county.
In 591, the 11th year of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty, an'cheng county was established as an administrative center.
In 618, the first year of Wude, Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty, fengle county was set up in part of the region. In the eighth year (605), fengle county was abandoned and its land was restored. In the first year of Tianbao (742), Emperor Xuanzong changed Shi'an County into Qujiang County.
In the second year of Kaibao (969), Emperor Taizu of the Song Dynasty set up an army in Nonghui town under Xiuping mountain (also known as Cuiping mountain and Yinding mountain) in Qujiang County, which was named Guang'an army after the meaning of "Guang tu'an Ji". Guang'an became a famous city, so it began. In 1243, the Mongol soldiers entered Sichuan and moved to Daliang city. From the sixth year of Baoyou (1258) to the second year of duzong Xianchun (1266), Daliang city was occupied twice by Mongolian soldiers and recovered twice by song army. In the second year of Xianchun's recovery, Guangan army was changed into Ningxi army. In 1276, Gongdi moved back to Chonghui town.
In 1276, the Ningxi army and its territory were occupied by the Yuan Dynasty. In 1278, the county was transferred to Shunqing Prefecture. In 1283, Shunqing mansion was upgraded to Shunqing road and Guangan mansion was established.
In the fourth year of Hongwu (1371), Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty incorporated it into the territory and renamed it Guang'an Prefecture in the same year.
In the early Qing Dynasty, the territory was occupied by Zhang Xianzhong, Li Zicheng, Yao Huang (Yao Tiandong, Huang Long) and Gan Liangchen in Ming Dynasty. In 1647, it was included in the territory of Qing Dynasty. However, because the city was still under the control of people, Laisu village was set up. Shunzhi eight years (1651), moved to bamboo village. In 1665, he moved to Nonghui town and owned Yuechi County, Linshui County, Qu county and Dazhu County. During the Jiaqing period, the Daofu system was implemented, and the prefecture belonged to Shunqing Prefecture of Beidao. On October 1, 1911 (November 21, 1911), the northern Sichuan people's army occupied the city and announced that Guang'an Prefecture was separated from the Qing government and was under the direct control of the northern Sichuan military government.
In July 1912, the military government of northern Sichuan was abolished. Mingdao abandoned the prefecture, and the prefecture directly belongs to the province. The following year, the system of Dao was restored, and Guang'an Prefecture was changed into Guang'an County, which was subordinate to Chuandong Dao. In 1914, Eastern Sichuan Road was changed to Jialing Road, and the county was under its jurisdiction. During the period from 1917 to 1921, the warlords in Sichuan were in dispute, and Guang'an County was under the control of Guizhou army, Shaanxi army and Jiangfang army. From 1922 to 1933, Guang'an County was under the jurisdiction of Luo Zezhou and Yang Sen. After the unification of Sichuan government in 1933, it belonged to the tenth administrative supervision district of Sichuan Provincial inspector general's office in Dazhu, which remained unchanged until December 8, 1938.
On December 9, 1949, Guang'an was liberated, and it was subordinate to Dazhu special district in East Sichuan administrative region.
In March 1953, Dazhu district was abolished and replaced by Nanchong district.
In September 1968, Nanchong district was changed to Nanchong District, and the county was changed to Nanchong district.
On July 2, 1993, the State Council approved the establishment of Guang'an Prefecture, which is subordinate to Guang'an County.
On July 31, 1998, Guang'an District was abolished and a prefecture level Guang'an City was established. The people's Government of Guang'an City is stationed in Guangfu town (now Guangfu Street); Guang'an County is abolished and Guang'an District of Guang'an City is established, with the former administrative region of Guang'an County as the administrative region of Guang'an District.
On February 22, 2013, the State Council approved the establishment of Qianfeng District of Guang'an City. The former Guang'an District was bounded by the main channel of Qujiang River Center, Qianfeng district was to the east of Qujiang River, and Guang'an District was to the west, forming the present administrative region of Guang'an District.

On May 27, 2016, CHUANSHI township was managed by Zaoshan logistics and trade park management committee entrusted by Guang'an Municipal People's government. So far, the actual management area of Guang'an District Party committee and government is 910 square kilometers.
