Yongxing County is a county under the jurisdiction of Chenzhou City. It is located in the southeast of Hunan Province and the northern border of Chenzhou City. It is adjacent to Zixing City in the East, Suxian District in the south, Guiyang County in the west, Anren County and Leiyang in Hengyang City in the north. It has jurisdiction over 10 towns, 4 townships and 2 sub district offices. It has a total population of 711000 people (544000 permanent residents). It is the second largest county in Chenzhou City and a national "urban mineral" demonstration base.
The area is narrow and long. It looks like a silkworm. It is 90 kilometers long from east to west and 56 kilometers wide from north to south. The total land area of the county is 1979.4 square kilometers, accounting for 0.93% of the total land area of Hunan Province. The eastern part is mountainous, the western part is mainly hilly, and the central part is distributed between hilly plains. The Beijing Guangzhou railway, Beijing Zhuhai Expressway, national highway G107 and provincial highway S212 run across the county, and the Bianjiang River in the upper reaches of Leishui river is navigable in four seasons.
In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Yongxing County as the national health county for the period of 2017-2019.
Evolution of organizational system
In the fifth year of Gaozu (202 BC) of the Western Han Dynasty, Bian county was established. It was named after Bian River in the territory and belonged to Guiyang County.
In the first year of the founding of the people's Republic of China (9), the new king mang changed Bian County into Bian Ping County, belonging to Nanping County.

In the first year of Tang Tianbao (742), anling county was changed to Gaoting County, belonging to the southwest Chenzhou Guiyang County.
In 1073, Gaoting county was changed to Yongxing County according to the proposal of Li SHIXIE, the prefect of Chenzhou.
The Yuan Dynasty belonged to Hunan Road Chenzhou road.
In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Chenzhou Road, Chenzhou Prefecture and Chenzhou Zhili Prefecture.
In 1724, Yongxing belonged to chendao, Hengyong, Hunan Province, and Zhili, Chenzhou.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Yongxing belonged to Hengyong Chengui road in Hunan Province.

Yongxing was divided into four townships and 20 capitals in Qing Dynasty. Changqing Township lived in the central and southern part, Yongxing Township in the middle and northern part, Yandao Township in the East and Jinling Township in the West. During the period of the Republic of China, one town and 14 townships were set up.
