Wuxuan County, also known as Xiancheng, belongs to Laibin city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and is the deputy central city of Laibin. Wuxuan County is one of the 25 key counties (county-level cities) in the list of small and medium-sized cities to accelerate the development of new urbanization in Guangxi.
Wuxuan County is located in the middle of the autonomous region, Southeast of Laibin City, at 23 ° 19 '- 23 ° 56' n and 109 ° 27 '- 109 ° 46' E. It is bounded by Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County in the northeast, Guiping City and Guigang City in the southeast, Xingbin District of Laibin City in the West and Xiangzhou County in the north. Wuxuan County has a long history. Zhongliu county was established in the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC) in the Western Han Dynasty, and the name system of Wuxuan County began in the sixth year of Xuande (1431 BC).
Wuxuan has a total area of 1739 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 9 towns and 1 Township, 142 villager committees and 8 communities, with a total area of 1739 square kilometers. The county has 1168900 mu of crops, including 395300 mu of grain sown area (297600 mu of rice sown area). At the end of 2019, the total registered residence population was 458 thousand and 600, of which 159 thousand and 300 were urban population. In 2019, the GDP of the whole county is 10.106 billion yuan, which is 3.0% higher than that of the previous year.
More than 30 kinds of mineral resources such as lead, zinc, manganese, dolomite, barite and marble have been proved, of which the potential reserves of dolomite are nearly 10 billion tons. The agricultural product resources mainly include sugarcane, high-quality grain, animal husbandry, fruit, edible fungi and tea. It is the largest edible fungi production base in China, including raw sugarcane production base county, commodity grain production base county, Guangxi milk buffalo production base county and Laibin city. The scenic spots include Baiya Grand Canyon, baxiantianchi, wumalanjiang and Datang gorge, as well as the largest Confucius Temple in Guangxi, Huang Zhaoxi manor and the "King" site of Hong Xiuquan of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. At the same time, Wuxuan is also the hometown of Chinese ornamental stones. On April 24, 2019, the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved the removal of poverty in Wuxuan County.
Evolution of organizational system
Before Qin Dynasty, Wuxuan belonged to Baiyue.
In the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (214 BC), Guilin, Xiang and Nanhai counties were set up in the south of the five ridges. Today, Wuxuan belongs to Guilin County, which governs Bushan (today's GUI county). Today, Wuxuan County is Zhongliu County, and the county government is in the area of Tongling town.
In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 B.C.) of the Western Han Dynasty, Zhongliu county was set up in the territory of today's Wuxuan. The county government is located in the area of today's Tongling Town, and it is subordinate to Yulin County of the History Department of Jiaozhi.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhongliu county was renamed Zhongliu County, subordinate to Yulin County of Jiaozhou.
Three Kingdoms belong to Wu, Fenghuang three years (AD 274) points Yulin County, add Guilin, Shi'an, Linhe three counties, subordinate to Guangzhou, now Wuxuan County belongs to Zhongliu county (county governance today Tongling town area), subordinate to Guilin county (county governance Wu'an, now Xiangzhou County).
In the first year of Taikang (the fourth year of Wu Tianji, ad 280), Wu sunhao descended to Jin Dynasty. Guangzhou was unified by the Western Jin Dynasty. Zhongliu county was abolished in the Western Jin Dynasty, and now Wuxuan County belongs to Guilin county (the county governs Dazhang township of Jinxiu county). In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Zhongzhou county (the county governs Tongling town today) was replaced by Zhongliu County, which is subordinate to Yulin County of Guangzhou (the county governs Guigang city today) and has jurisdiction over Wuxuan County.
In the northern and Southern Dynasties, Zhongliu county was restored to Guilin County in Song Dynasty, and its governance was changed from Wu'an to Wuxi (now Xiangzhou), and then moved to Zhongliu County; Zhongliu county was established in Qi Dynasty, and its governance was changed from Guilin county to Wuxi; Zhongliu county was changed to Zhongzhou County in Liang Dynasty, and its governance was changed to Guilin county (its governance was changed from Zhongliu to Zhongzhou); Chen Zhi Zhongzhou county was changed to Guilin county (its governance was Zhongzhou county). Song, Liang and Chen were all in Wuxuan County.
In 590, the tenth year of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty, Guilin county was added (the old county of Han Dynasty was governed by Dazhang Township in Jinxiu, and the other county of Sui Dynasty was governed by miaohuang Township in Xiangzhou County. Miaohuang Township belonged to today's Wuxuan County before liberation). In the eleventh year of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty, Wuxuan County was incorporated into Guilin County, belonging to Shi'an county.
The fourth year of Wude (621) of Tang Dynasty was divided into Guilin county and added Wuxian County, which governed Yinjiang (now Sanli Town, old county village). In the 21st year of Kaiyuan (733), Wuxian County belonged to Lingnan Road, and in the third year of Xiantong (862), it belonged to Yongguan Xiangzhou.
Wuxian County, known as Wuxian County in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, first belonged to the state of Chu, and then to the Southern Han Dynasty in 951, the first year of Taizu's reign.
Wuxian county was called in the Song Dynasty. In the third year of Zhidao (997), it belonged to luxiangzhou and zhiyangshou (now Xiangzhou County).
Wuxian county was named in the Yuan Dynasty. It first belonged to xingzhongshu province of Huguang. In 1363, it belonged to Xiangzhou, Liuzhou Road, xingzhongshu province of Guangxi.
Wuxian county was called in the Ming Dynasty. In 1376, it belonged to Xiangzhou, Liuzhou Prefecture, Youjiang Road, Chengxuan political emissary of Guangxi. In March of the sixth year of Xuande (1431), Wuxian county was renamed Wuxuan County. The county government was transferred to Gaoli (now Wuxuan town), which was subordinate to Wuxian county.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was called Wuxuan County. In Shunzhi and Kangxi, it belonged to Liuzhou Prefecture. In the third year of Yongzheng (1725), it belonged to Zhili Prefecture of Binzhou. In the eighth year of Yongzheng, it belonged to Xunzhou Prefecture of Youjiang Road (now Guiping City). It had six Li households (Xiangli, dongxiangli, wulaili, guhaoli, xixianli, beixiangli). In 1856, Emperor Li Wenmao led his army to attack Wuxuan city and renamed Wuxuan County Wenxing county. When Xianfeng was lost in the 11th year, Wuxuan County was still under the Qing Dynasty system. In 1911, Wuxuan County was the capital of Xunzhou.
The first year of the Republic of China (1912) called Wuxuan County, is the capital of Xunzhou. Two years later, the government system was abolished; the province set up Dao, which led the county, and Wuxuan County belonged to Yujiang road. Three years later, Yujiang road was renamed Cangwu Road. In 19 years, it belonged to Cangwu militia district (governing Wuzhou). In the 21st year, it belonged to Wuzhou militia district (zhiguiping). In 23, it belonged to Wuzhou administrative supervision area (zhiguiping), in 25, it belonged to Xunzhou administrative supervision area (zhiguiping), in 29, it belonged to the fifth administrative supervision area (zhiguiping), in 31, it belonged to the third administrative supervision area (zhiwuzhou), in 37, it belonged to the second administrative supervision area (zhiliuzhou), and in 38, it belonged to the thirteenth administrative supervision area (zhiguiping).
On December 1, 1949, the whole territory of Wuxuan County was liberated. On December 24, the people's Government of Wuxuan County was established. The government is located in Wuxuan Town, belonging to Liuzhou District. On September 1, 1952, Wuxuan County merged with Xiang County, which was called Shilong county. The government is located in Shilong Town, belonging to Yishan District, which was changed to Liuzhou District in 1958. On March 29, 1962, Shilong county was abolished and Wuxuan County was restored. The government was stationed in Wuxuan Town, belonging to Liuzhou District (Liuzhou District in 1970).
On September 29, 2002, the State Council approved the abolition of Liuzhou Prefecture and the establishment of Laibin city at prefecture level. On December 28, 2002, Laibin city at prefecture level was officially established and Wuxuan County was under the jurisdiction of Laibin city.
administrative division
In 1730, there were six li households in Wuxuan County, namely, in Xiangli, dongxiangli, wulaili, guhaoli, xixiangli and beixiangli.
In 1909, the original Liuli district was divided into nine districts: Chengxiang District, Sanli District, Dongxiang District, Tongling District, Tongwan District, Luxin District, Ertang District, Huangmao district and Miaowang district.
In 1913, Jinji district was set up in Huangmao district.
On July 1, the 22nd year of the Republic of China, 10 districts of the county were merged into Beihe district and Nanhe district. The towns in the past 23 years are as follows: Chengxiang Town, Sanli Township, Dongxiang Township, Tongling Township, Tongwan Township, Luxin Township, Mabu Township, Ertang Township, Huangmao Township, Jinji Township, Dalin Township and miaohuang township.
In March 1950, the county was divided into Dongxiang, Tongling, Ertang and Huangmao districts and Chengxiang town.
Dongxiang district (later renamed Sanli District) governs Dongxiang Township and Sanli township.
Tongling District (later renamed Nanhe District) governs Tongling Township, Tongwan Township, Luxin Township and Mabu township.
Ertang District governs Ertang Township, Dalin Township and miaohuang township.
Huangmao District governs Huangmao Township and Jinji township.
In September 1950, the county was further divided into eight districts, namely Dongxiang, Sanli, Tongling, Tongwan, Luxin, Ertang, Huangmao and miaohuang, and Wuxuan town.
In September 1952, Wuxuan County and Xiang county were merged into Shilong county. Now Wuxuan County is divided into seven districts: Huangmao District, Ertang District, Sanli District, Dongxiang District, Tongling District, Tongwan district and Luxin District, under which there are small townships.
In January 1958, Shilong county was removed from its districts to build townships. Now Wuxuan County is divided into 15 townships: Jinji Township, Huangmao Township, Ertang Township, Dalin Township, Wuxuan Township, Sanli Township, Wufu Township, Dongxiang Township, HEMA Township, Tongling Township, Xinlong Township, Tongwan Township, Tongan township (changed to Mabu Township in April), Luxin Township and Siling township.
In August 1958, all towns in Shilong county were changed into people's communes. Now there are 15 people's communes in Wuxuan County. In September, the whole county was merged into 9 people's communes. There are 2 people's communes in Wuxuan County: Hongqi people's commune (Beihe) and qianjinchongtian people's commune (Nanhe)
In March 1959, the county was further divided into 32 people's communes. Now there are 15 people's communes in Wuxuan County, including Jinji, Huangmao, Ertang, Dalin, Wuxuan, Sanli, Wufu, Dongxiang, HEMA, Tongling, Xinlong, Tongwan, Mabu, Luxin and Siling.
On March 29, 1962, the organizational system of Wuxuan County was restored. In September, the county was divided into eight districts: Wuxuan District, Sanli District, Dongxiang District, Tongling District, Tongwan District, Luxin District, Ertang district and Huangmao district.
In January 1969, eight districts were transformed into eight people's communes.
In April 1980, Wuxuan people's commune was changed into Wuxuan town.
