Yizhou district belongs to Hechi City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is located in the north of Central Guangxi. In the East and northeast, it connects Liucheng County, Liujiang county and Luocheng county. In the South and southwest, it borders Xincheng County and Du'an County. In the west, it borders Jinchengjiang district. In the North, it borders Huanjiang County, with a total area of 3896 square kilometers.
Yizhou is the hometown of Liu Sanjie, a singer of Zhuang nationality. It is also an excellent tourism city in China, a tourism destination with the most folk culture characteristics in China, the birthplace of "national cultural advanced city" and "the first village of Chinese villagers' autonomy". In March 2015, the Chinese gerontological society awarded Yizhou the title of "hometown of longevity in China".
In 2019, 9 towns and 7 townships will be under the jurisdiction of Yizhou district. In 2018, the permanent resident population of Yizhou district was 587500, and the gross domestic product (GDP) was 13.86672 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry was 4.47638 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 2.88535 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry was 6.50499 billion yuan. The added value of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries accounted for 32.3%, 20.8% and 46.9% of the GDP respectively The total output value is 23667 yuan.
Historical evolution
In Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), it belonged to Guilin Prefecture.
In the sixth year of the Ding Dynasty (111 BC), Zhou county was established.
During the Three Kingdoms period, it belonged to the state of Wu. Zhou county was set up, and then Longgang county was changed.
In the Western Jin Dynasty, Longgang county was set up, which was subordinate to Guilin county. In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Longgang county was set up along the border.
In the fourth year of Zhenguan (630) of Tang Dynasty, Longshui county was established, which successively belonged to Yuezhou, Longshui county and Yizhou. During the reign of Tianbao (742-753), Jimi Wenquan prefecture (under the jurisdiction of 2 counties), Jimi Fanzhou (under the jurisdiction of 3 counties), Jimi shukunzhou (under the jurisdiction of 5 counties) and Jimi Linzhou (under the jurisdiction of 4 counties) were successively set up in the city and adjacent areas. In the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Longshui County belonged to Chu at the beginning, and then to Southern Han Dynasty, and belonged to Yizhou.
In the early Song Dynasty, Longshui county was established along the Tang Dynasty. In the fifth year of Chunhua (994), luocao County in Liuzhou was established as Longshui county. In the first year of Xuanhe (1119), Longshui county was renamed as Yishan county. It was subordinate to Yizhou and Qingyuan Prefecture successively. It was the prefecture government, the prefecture government, and the residence of Qingyuan army's festival envoy.
From the Yuan Dynasty to the 13th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1276), Yishan county was the civil pacification Department of the Qingyuan army and the governor. In the 16th year of Zhiyuan (1279), it belonged to the general manager's office of Qingyuan Road. In the first year of Dade (1297), it belonged to the military and civilian pacification Department of danxidong in Qingyuan south, and was the governor of the Department.
In 1368, the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, Yishan county was governed by Qingyuan Prefecture. The next year, it belonged to the military and civilian pacification Department of nandanxi cave in Qingyuan Prefecture, and was the governor of the Department. In another year, it belongs to Qingyuan and is governed by the government. During the period from Hongwu to Yongle (1368-1424), four inspection departments were set up successively, including DACAO, Huaiyuan, Desheng, Dongjiang and Longmen Tushe. In the Qing Dynasty, Yishan county was governed by Qingyuan Prefecture. In the fifth year of Kangxi (1666), the three inspection departments of Da Cao, Huai Yuan and Dong Jiang were abolished. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Yishan county was abolished and Qingyuan Prefecture was set up, directly under the provincial government of Guangxi. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Qingyuan Prefecture was abolished and Yishan county was set up. In 1926, Liujiang road was abandoned and Yishan county was directly under the provincial government of Guangxi. In 1930, Guangxi was divided into 12 civilian League districts, and Yishan County belonged to Yishan civilian League district. In 1932, 12 civilian regiment districts in Guangxi were merged into 6 civilian regiment districts, and Yishan County belonged to Liuzhou civilian regiment district. In March of 1934, eight civilian League districts in Guangxi were changed into eight administrative supervision districts. Yishan county is located in Liuzhou supervision district. In November 1936, two administrative supervision districts, Yulin and Qingyuan, were set up in Guangxi. Yishan county is located in Qingyuan district. In March 1940, the administrative supervision districts in Guangxi were changed into administrative supervision districts. Yishan, the seventh district, is the seat of the Commissioner of the administrative supervision district and the office of the security commander. In April 1942, the fourth and seventh districts of Guangxi Administrative supervision district merged into the Second District, and Yishan County belonged to the second district (namely Liuzhou District). In 1947, Guangxi was divided into 12 special districts again. Yishan county is the Tenth Special District, where the special district is located.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the people's Government of Yishan county was established on December 27, 1949. The county belongs to Qingyuan district and is the seat of Qingyuan district office.
In February 1950, Qingyuan Commissioner's office was renamed Yishan Commissioner's office. The county belongs to Yishan District, where the district is located.
On July 19, 1958, Yishan district was merged into Liuzhou District.
In July 1965, the Hechi special zone was established, and Yishan belongs to the Hechi special zone.
In 1971, the special districts of Guangxi were renamed as districts, and Yishan county belongs to Hechi district.
On December 23, 1987, the State Council approved the transfer of Fulong Township in Du'an Yao Autonomous County to Yishan county.
On September 9, 1993, the State Council approved the abolition of Yishan county and the establishment of Yizhou City (county-level city), which belongs to Hechi area, and the towns under its jurisdiction remain unchanged.
On June 18, 2002, the State Council approved the restoration of Yizhou City in Hechi area, which is directly under the central government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and managed by Hechi City.
On December 14, 2016, the State Council approved the abolition of Yizhou city at the county level and the establishment of Yizhou District of Hechi City, and approved the relocation of Hechi municipal government to Yizhou district.
On July 26, 2017, Yizhou District of Hechi City was officially established.

On June 13, 2005, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region agreed to adjust the administrative divisions of some townships in Yizhou City: abolish Sanhe Township, merge the whole system into Liusanjie Township, and the government residence of Liusanjie Township remains unchanged; abolish Lali Township, merge the whole system into Beiya Yao Township, and the government residence of Beiya Yao Township remains unchanged; abolish Lalang Township, merge the whole system into Longtou Township, and the government residence of Longtou Township remains unchanged; abolish Taiyang township Pingxiang, the former Taiping Township Taiping community and Silan, Shanwan, Sanxing, Xiawei, Weicun five villages are under the jurisdiction of Qingyuan Town, the former Taiping Township Laba village is under the jurisdiction of shibie Town, the former Taiping Township Jian'an village is under the jurisdiction of Beishan town; Aishan township is abolished, the former Aishan community of Aishan Township and pangtang, yipan, Dongping, Su Village, liupo, Luoyan, Lingping, Chengzhang eight villages are under the jurisdiction of Qingyuan Town, the former Taiping Township Liuqiao village of Aishan township is under the jurisdiction of Tongde township; Ma'an village of Liusanjie Township and Yemao and long villages of Huaiyuan town are under the jurisdiction of Qingyuan town.
In May 2014, Yizhou District abolished Luodong Township and Liusanjie Township and established Luodong town and Liusanjie town.
Yizhou district is located in the north of the central part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which belongs to Hechi City.
