Zhaoping, the ancient place of Baiyue, is also called Nanyue because it is located in the south of the five ridges. In the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (214 BC), Guilin county was established.
Over 90 years in the early Han Dynasty, the county belongs to Nanyue state.
In the sixth year of the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (111 BC), Nanyue was pacified and Cangwu county was established. Linhe county and Mengling county were under the jurisdiction of Emperor Wu. Linhe county is the most important part of the county, and Mengling county is Majiang and Muge now. In the eighth year of Jian'an (203) of Emperor Xian of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the county still belonged to Linhe and Mengling counties, and belonged to Cangwu county.
In the fifth year of Wu Huangwu in the Three Kingdoms (226), Linhe and Mengling were still in the county. Linhe County belonged to Linhe County, and Mengling County belonged to Cangwu county.
In the Jin Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty, because of the Han system, the county still belonged to Linhe and Mengling.
In 520, Emperor Wu divided Linhe County into Jingzhou, Liangshou and Jingwei counties, and Longping, Anle, Ningxin, bolao and Dangshan counties. Jingzhou unified Liangshou and Jingwei counties. Liangshou County governs Longping and Ningxin counties; Jingwei County governs Anle and bolao counties; Dangshan County is subordinate to leliang county (now Zhongshan County) and belongs to Dongjing prefecture (now Nanfeng Town, Fengkai County, Guangdong Province). It is also divided into Mengling County, where Wucheng County, Kaijiang County and Haojing County, Kaijiang County and Mengling county are located.
