Boai County, belonging to Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, is located in the south foot of Taihang Mountain, northwest of Jiaozuo City, and adjacent to Zezhou County of Jincheng City in the north. It borders Jiaozuo City and Wuzhi County in the East, Qinyang City across Danhe River in the west, and Wenxian County across Qinhe River in the south.
Boai County governs Qinghua Town Street and Hongchang street, Xuliang Town, Yueshan Town, Baishan Town, Motou Town, Xiaojing Town, Jincheng Township and zhaihuo Township, with a total area of 435 square kilometers, cultivated land area of about 300000 Mu and a population of 436000. In 2018, the county's GDP increased by 8.2%.
On January 22, 2020, it was named National Garden County by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development. On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the list of national health towns (counties) to be reconfirmed in 2019.
Historical evolution
It was founded in 1927 and set up the county of fraternity by taking the fraternity of "freedom, democracy, equality and fraternity" advocated by Dr. Sun Yat Sen.
The Xia Dynasty belonged to Qin Huaidi, the Shang Dynasty belonged to Ji nei, and the Zhou Dynasty belonged to Ye Wangyi.
During the Warring States period, it was subordinate to Zheng, Jin, Wei and Korea.

In the early Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Yin state, in the second year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (205 BC), it belonged to yewang County, and in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Hanoi county.
During the Three Kingdoms period, it belonged to Hanoi Prefecture of Weiji Prefecture.
The two Jin dynasties belong to Henan county.
The Sui Dynasty belonged to Hanoi county.
In 620, Taihang county was established. In the fourth year of Wude, Taihang county was abolished and merged into Hanoi county.

In 1913, Hanoi county was renamed Qinyang county. In August 1927, when Feng Yuxiang was in charge of Henan Province, according to the petition of general Ji Hongchang, he demarcated some of the villages in the four townships east of Danhe in the northeast of Qinyang County, and added Boai County, which was directly under the jurisdiction of Henan Province.
From 1938 to 1945, when the Japanese army occupied Bo'ai, it was changed into Qinghua county.
In August 1949, Pingyuan province was established under the jurisdiction of Xinxiang District, Pingyuan province. Pingyuan province was abolished in 1952, under the jurisdiction of Xinxiang District, Henan Province. It was under the jurisdiction of Jiaozuo City in 1954. In October 1960, it was merged into Jiaozuo City and the county was abolished. Chengguan, Yangmiao, Jincheng, Jiegou and Hongqi people's commune were set up. In September 1961, the establishment of Boai County was restored, and it was still under the jurisdiction of Xinxiang District, Henan Province. During the cultural revolution, it was once known as Hongwei county. After September 1, 1983, it was under the jurisdiction of Jiaozuo City. In 2005, the township division of Boai County was adjusted: Jiegou township was abolished, and its administrative region was put under the jurisdiction of Xiaojing Town, and the people's Government of Xiaojing town was stationed in dongjiegou village; zhangruji township was abolished, and its administrative region was put under the jurisdiction of Jincheng Township, and the people's Government of Jincheng town remained unchanged; Gaomiao township was abolished, and its administrative region was put under the jurisdiction of Qinghua Town, and the people's Government of Qinghua town remained unchanged. On August 18 and October 28, 2012, with the approval of Henan provincial government, the renovation system of sujiazuo Township in Boai County was put under the jurisdiction of Shanyang District of Jiaozuo City. Boai County belongs to the Yellow River and Haihe river basins, mainly including Danhe River and Qinhe River, Dasha River, Xingfu River, Lema River, Yunliang River, nanheng River, beiheng River, nanjianggou River and beijianggou river.
Qinhe River is the largest river flowing through Boai County, which belongs to the Yellow River system. Due to the influence of upstream water diversion, the inflow of water is decreasing year by year, and the water source is not guaranteed. Danhe river is a secondary tributary of the Yellow River. It flows into Qinhe River in Boai County. Its water source mainly comes from Sangu spring of qingtianhe reservoir. The water quality is good and suitable for human and livestock drinking. The average annual runoff of Danhe river is 309 million cubic meters. In order to ensure the water supply of Danhe River, qingtianhe reservoir was built in 1972 at 1 km upstream of Yuetai railway bridge. The reservoir has a controlled drainage area of 2513 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 20.7 million cubic meters and a Xingli storage capacity of 17.26 million cubic meters.
