Evolution of organizational system
Laohekou City is a Yin state in ancient times, which is named after its location in the north of Jingshan mountain. It is located in the inundated area of Gucheng reservoir in Yuanchong district. In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Chu. "In the 19th year of Lu Zhaogong (523 BC), Chu Gong Yin Chi moved to Xiayin.". Xiayin city is located near Fujia village.
In the 26th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (221 BC), the system of prefectures and counties was implemented. There were two counties, Bi and Yin. The old city of bi was close to Xiayin, and it was located in the north of Gufeng mountain (no longer in the Han River).
The Han Dynasty followed the system of Qin Dynasty. In the fifth year of Gaozu (202 BC), Xiao He was granted the title of marquis Zhu, "eight thousand households lived here.". In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Emperor Guangwu granted Deng Yu the title of Marquis of Zhu, where he lived for thousands of households. In the 13th year of Jian'an (208), Cao Wei got Jingzhou, and Nanxiang county was located in the west of Nanyang. It governed eight counties, such as Yan and Yin. In November of the 10th year of Taikang (289) in the Western Jin Dynasty, Nanxiang county was changed into Shunyang County by taking its land as the fiefdom of Shunyang king. It governs three counties, i.e. Fu, yin and Zhuyang. The county is located in Fu City, which was once called Shunyang county. Yongjia in the Western Jin Dynasty (307-313), the city is not in the Han River.

At the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, the state of juezhou was established and abolished. In the eighth year of Zhenguan period, Yincheng county was merged into Gucheng County and renamed Yincheng Town, which was subordinate to Xiangzhou.
In the second year of Qiande in the Northern Song Dynasty (964), the Guanghua army was established in Yincheng Town, and Qiande county was set up in the territory. In the fifth year of Xining (1072), the army was abolished and Qiande county was changed to Guanghua county. It was named after "Guangda Wanghua" and belonged to Xiangzhou. In the early years of Yuanyou, the restoration of Guanghua army led Qiande County, belonging to southwest Beijing road.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Guanghua county was set up in 1277, which belonged to Nanyang Prefecture. In 1282, it belonged to Xiangyang Road.
In 1377, Guanghua county was merged into Gucheng County. In 1380, Guanghua county was restored to Xiangyang Prefecture.
In the Qing Dynasty, Guanghua county was set up, belonging to Xiangyang Prefecture.
From 1912 to 1948, Guanghua county was established, which successively belonged to Xiangyang Road, the eighth and the fifth Office of the Commissioner of administrative supervision.
In 1937, Laohekou town was established as Guanghua county.
In 1949, it belonged to Xiangyang District. From September 1948 to September 1949, and from July 1951 to August 1952, Laohekou City was established twice by Laohekou Town, which was abolished. In 1960, Jun county was merged into Guanghua County, and in 1962, the two counties were divided into Xiangyang District. In 1970, it belonged to Xiangyang area.
In 1979, Laohekou town and its suburbs were designated as Laohekou City at county level.

Laohekou is located between North China platform and Yangzi platform, east of Qinling geosyncline and northeast of Wudang uplift. The northwest part of the urban area is formed into a structural form with less faults and more folds due to the North compression. Most of the folds are composed of Upper Proterozoic Sinian and Paleozoic Cambrian strata, followed by Cenozoic strata. In the middle reaches of the Hanshui River, thick Cretaceous sandstone of the lower Tertiary system was deposited on the upper part of the old strata. Due to weathering and erosion, low hilly areas were formed, and then Quaternary sedimentary rocks were deposited.

Kongjiagang is the watershed in the west of Sujiahe river. Lin Maoshan is the East watershed of Sujiahe river. From sanjianshan mountain to the south, through bailonggou East, jihuigou East, huanglongquan east to songjiagang north, it is divided into two branches, the main ridge elevation is 390 meters to 195 meters, and the length is 13.6 kilometers.
Heihu mountain starts from Heihu temple at the junction of Xichuan County, Dengzhou city and Laohekou City in Henan Province, passes through zhaibao to the south, enters the market at 1km north of zishengqiao, passes through dapozhai to the east of Xiaohuang neem tree, and its main ridge is 425 m to 207 m high and 7 km long.
From the north of xiaozhanggou, Hangou Dongling turns south to the west through xihangou, and reaches Zhangzhuang (the east end of liangshuiquan reservoir dam) through shuangqiaowa. It is 174 meters to 118 meters high and 8 kilometers long. The main ridge of tongerpi mountain is the East watershed of mengqiaochuan.
Xindiangang starts from the north of shibeigang, along the southwest side of Hanmeng highway, and passes through xindiangang to leizudian temple. Its height is 167 meters to 130 meters, and its length is 7 kilometers. It is the South watershed of Zhangfei river.
