Yangshuo County Yangshuo County, which belongs to Guilin city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the northeast of Guangxi, south of Guilin City, adjacent to Gongcheng County and Pingle County in the East, Lipu city in the south, Yongfu county and Lingui District in the west, Lingchuan County and Yanshan District in the north. The county is 65 kilometers away from the urban area of Guilin, with a total area of 1436 square kilometers, 20000 hectares of arable land and a total population of 308300. It governs 6 towns and 3 townships, and has 11 ethnic groups, including Han, Zhuang, Yao and Hui.
At the end of 2015, Yangshuo County's GDP was 10.82 billion yuan, fiscal revenue was 593 million yuan, and the total social fixed asset investment was 12.447 billion yuan; the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery was 3.661 billion yuan, and 13.049 million tourists were received, realizing the total tourism income of 10.02 billion yuan, the per capita net income of farmers was 11977 yuan, and the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 34610 yuan.
Yangshuo County has 15 business attractions, such as Lijiang scenic spot, impression of Liu Sanjie, bilianfeng landscape park, Julongtan, butterfly spring, Liu Sanjie water park, Jianshan temple, etc. In November 2018, it was listed in the "2018 list of China's 100 happy counties".
In September 2019, it will be selected as one of the first batch of national global tourism demonstration zones. On September 20, 2019, it won the honorary title of national greening model unit. Historical evolution
There were human activities in the Neolithic age.
In the sixth year of Yuanding in the Western Han Dynasty (111 BC), Yangshuo belonged to Lingling County of Jingzhou.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belongs to Lingling County of Jingzhou, and is the land of Shi'an marquis.
During the Taishi period of the Southern Song Dynasty (466-471), Shi'an county was changed to shijianguo, and Xiping County was under its jurisdiction.
In 590, the county government was transferred from Xiping to Yangshuo town. The county government was built at the foot of Yangjiao mountain, with the homonym of Yangjiao for Yangshuo. Yangshuo County thus got its name, which went through various dynasties and has been handed down to the present day.
In the fourth year of Wude in Tang Dynasty (621), Guiyi county was added to Yangshuo County, which was under the jurisdiction of Guizhou.
In the first year of Tang Zhenguan (627), Guiyi county was abolished and merged into Yangshuo County, which was under the jurisdiction of Guizhou. The county government is located in the south of the old county village of Baisha Town.
In 1107, the first year of Daguan in Northern Song Dynasty, Guizhou was changed into Jingjiang Prefecture. Yangshuo is under the jurisdiction of Jingjiang Prefecture.
From the Yuan Dynasty to the 15th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1278), Jingjiang mansion was changed to Jingjiang Road, and Yangshuo belonged to Jingjiang road.
In the early years of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, Jingjiang road was changed to Guilin Prefecture, and Yangshuo County belonged to Guilin Prefecture.
In the Qing Dynasty, Yangshuo still belonged to Guilin Prefecture of Guangxi.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the government was abolished and the road was set up. Yangshuo belongs to Guilin road, which was changed to Lijiang road after Guilin road.
In 1926, Lijiang River was abandoned and Yangshuo was directly under Guangxi Province.
In the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), it belonged to the eighth administrative office of Guilin, Guangxi (Guilin District).
In 1945, it belonged to the eighth District of Guangxi Province.
In August 1949, it belonged to the 11th (Pingle) special zone.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it is still called Yangshuo County and belongs to Guilin special area.
In May 1961, the seven people's communes were divided into 17 people's communes (towns), and there were still production brigades and production teams below the communes.
In August 1962, 17 people's communes were abolished and 7 districts were established, with 97 township level organizations under its jurisdiction.
In April 1968, Yangshuo County belonged to Guilin area.
In February 1981, the revolutionary committees at all levels were abolished and the people's Government of Yangshuo County was established. The commune and brigade set up the management committee and the production team set up the team Committee.
On July 1, 1981, with the approval of the State Council, it was put under the jurisdiction of Guilin city and became a county under the jurisdiction of the city.
In 1996, Yangshuo County covered an area of 1428 square kilometers with a population of about 290000. It has jurisdiction over 4 towns and 6 townships: Yangshuo Town, Baisha Town, welfare Town, Xingping Town, Chengguan Township, Puyi Township, Gaotian Township, Jinbao Township, Putao Township and Yangdi township. The county government is located in Yangshuo town.
On September 20, 1999, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZH No. 162) agreed to merge Chengguan Township and Yangshuo town to establish a new Yangshuo town. The town government is located in the former seat of Chengguan Township Government, and the new Yangshuo town governs the administrative regions of the former Chengguan Township and Yangshuo town. On December 28, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZH No. 222) agreed to change Putao Township and Gaotian Township into town system The administrative areas under its jurisdiction remain unchanged. After the adjustment, Yangshuo County has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 3 townships: Yangshuo Town, Baisha Town, welfare Town, Xingping Town, Putao Town, Gaotian Town, Puyi Township, Jinbao Township and Yangdi township.
According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Yangshuo county is 264640. Among them, there are 40891 in Yangshuo Town, 41621 in Baisha Town, 41438 in welfare Town, 36427 in Xingping Town, 28176 in Putao Town, 29611 in Gaotian Town, 26438 in Jinbao Township, 10544 in Puyi Township and 9494 in Yangdi township.

The landform of Yangshuo county is mainly composed of stone mountains and hills, supplemented by mountains. Both sides of the northeast and southwest have higher terrain, belonging to the edge of Haiyang mountain range (Dongyao mountain) and jiaqiaoling mountain range (Xiyao mountain). The trend of the mountain range is roughly northwest southeast, which is the source of the main rivers in the county.
The central part is a hill of about 150 square kilometers, with an altitude of 200-500 meters. The wide area from northwest to Southeast belongs to karst landform, with low terrain and inclined from north to south. When the warm and humid air from Southeast Pacific flows in, it is easy to rain due to the uplift of terrain, and the cold wave is easy to soak in.
Most rivers in the territory flow from northwest to Southeast. There are many stone mountains in the karst area, with an altitude of 200-500m and a relative height difference of 50-300m. Among the rock mountains, the erosion bearing depressions, the peak forest valleys and the river alluvial plains are staggered, and the terrain is relatively flat.
