Mazhang District, under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southwest of Zhanjiang City and the north of Leizhou Peninsula. Mazhang is named after sisal and octopus. Mazhang District, formerly known as the suburb of Zhanjiang City, was renamed Mazhang District in October 1994.
