Yanshan County, which is subordinate to Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Cangzhou City, adjacent to Bohai Sea in the East, Beijing and Tianjin in the north, and Shandong in the south. The total area of the county is 800 square kilometers, with 740000 mu of cultivated land and 450000 people (in 2013). It governs 6 townships, 6 towns, and 450 administrative villages. It is the center of "two provinces" (Hebei Province and Shandong Province) and "three cities" (Cangzhou City, Dezhou City and Binzhou City), known as "Hebei Shandong hub" and "Beijing Tianjin gateway".
Hanhuang railway, new Beijing Shanghai Expressway, national highway 205 and other national and provincial trunk lines run through the county. Beijing Kowloon Railway, Beijing Shanghai Railway (passenger dedicated line), Shuohuang Railway, Shihuang expressway, Tianjin Shantou Expressway and other traffic arteries pass by. It is 120km away from Tianjin, 220km away from Beijing, 160km away from Jinan, 50km away from Huanghua port, 110km away from Tianjin port. It can go to sea in half an hour and board in one hour.
In 1984, it was approved by the State Council as "Bohai economic open county". In 2004, it was listed into the "Beijing Tianjin Hebei" metropolitan area by the national development and Reform Commission. In 2011, the "Hebei coastal area development plan" was upgraded to the national development strategy, and Yanshan was included in the plan.
Historical evolution
Today, Yanshan is under the jurisdiction of maiqiu city of Qi State in the Western Zhou Dynasty, and is located at the intersection of Qi and Yan state in the spring and autumn and Warring States periods; Qin is at the junction of Liu county (Governance: today's Huanghua yangerzhuang) and Yanci county (Governance: today's Lingxian Shentou town).
Qin Shihuang established it in 221 B.C. (the 26th year of the first emperor), so it was ruled in yangerzhuang Town, Huanghua City, Hebei Province. It belonged to Qi county. Later, it was divided into Jibei county from Qi county. In the 13th year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 37), Liu county was abolished and merged into Zhangwu County.
In the fifth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (202 BC), it was set up by Liu Bang of Western Han Dynasty, belonging to Bohai Prefecture of Youzhou. At first, the county government was located 20 miles southeast of today's Yanshan County, near the old city of Zhao.
Old county town, in the Shang, Zhou, Warring States period, known as "Rao Anyi", which means "its land around the rich, you can Ann people.". It is said in the historical records of the Zhao family that in the sixth year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (241 BC), "Zhao general Pang attacked Qi to take rao'an" refers to this place. In the Qin Dynasty, this place was called "thousand children's city". The first emperor sent thousands of children's men and women to the sea to seek Penglai, and set up this city to live in, so it was named In the fifth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (202 BC), Qiantong county was established here.
Emperor Ling of Han Dynasty changed Qiantong county to govern the old towns, belonging to Bohai county. After the second year of Xiping in the Northern Wei Dynasty (517), it was ruled by Cangzhou.
In 265 ad, when Sima Yan was emperor, Gaocheng county was changed to Gaocheng County, belonging to Bohai County of Jizhou. In the northern and Southern Dynasties, in the seventh year of Tianbao (556 AD), Emperor Wenxuan Gao Yang abolished Zhangwu County and xizhangwu county and merged them into Gaocheng county. In those years, Gaocheng county government moved to daliuli, which is now the old town and village of Huanghua city.
In 586, Wudi County was established in Yangxin County and Gaocheng county.
In the 16th year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (596 A.D.), Lucheng county was set up in the old city of xizhangwu county (now Qianfu village, qijiajia Township, Huanghua city), which governed the north. At the same time, the southwest of Gaocheng was designated as Fushui county (now Mengcun new town), and the rest was still under the jurisdiction of Gaocheng county.
In 598 ad, Gaocheng was changed to Yanshan (including Yanshan and Xiashan).
In the 16th year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty, Lucheng county was established here.
In 627, Wudi County was divided into Yangxin County.
In 634, Wudi County was restored.
Tang Zhenguan 12 years (638), moved to rule the new town.
In 1071, the province entered Qingchi county.
In the ninth year of Hongwu (1376) of Ming Dynasty, because of the rise of hoyu academy, the county was moved to the East (now the county).
During the period of the Republic of China, the old city, Hancun, yangerzhuang and the Binhai area of Cangxian County in the "four towns" of Yanshan set up Xinhai Bureau.
In 1938, the Japanese and puppets set up the jurisdiction of Xinhai county and established the division of Xinhai county.
In 1945, to commemorate Yang Jingyuan, the county magistrate of the Anti Japanese democratic government (in the Fifth District: Gaowan), who died in Dazhao village of Xuguan District of the fourth district (yangerzhuang), and Huang Hua, the deputy commander of Jiaoliu brigade and deputy commander of Hebei Shandong border military region of the 15th division of the Eighth Route Army (who died on June 30, 1943), "new Yanshan" was renamed Jingyuan County, "North Salt mountain" -- Xinhai was renamed Huanghua County.
In 1949, Jingyuan County was renamed Yanshan County.
In 1955, Mengcun county was built in Mengcun and other places.
On November 8, 1958, Mengcun, Qingyun and Yanshan merged and became Mengcun Hui Autonomous County. The county Party committee was located in Yanshan town. On December 25, it was renamed Yanshan County.

Yanshan County is located in the eastern coastal plain of Hebei plain. Its geographical coordinates are 37 ° 49 ′ - 38 ° 06 ′ N and 116 ° 56 ′ - 117 ° 30 ′ E.
