Lanshan County, a county under the jurisdiction of Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, is located in the southern border of Hunan Province and the north side of the middle part of Nanling Mountains. It is known as "the tail of Chu and the head of Guangdong". It is an important gateway from Southwest Hunan to the coastal areas of Guangdong. Lanshan mountain is located in the east foot of Jiuyi mountain. The terrain inclines from southwest to northeast. Mountains, hills, hills and flat areas crisscross each other, mainly mountainous areas. It is a typical mountainous county. Lanshan County borders Linwu County in the East, Jianghua Yao Autonomous County and Lianzhou City in Guangdong Province in the south, Ningyuan County in the West and Jiahe County in the north. It is 33km southward along Yonglian highway from the county to the border of Guangdong Province. Lanshan county is 420 km north to Changsha and 320 km south to Guangzhou. The provincial highway 322 and 314 meet.
In 1998, Lanshan County won the title of "model unit of national unity and progress" in China. In 2012, Lanshan county was rated as "advanced county of population and family planning in Hunan Province". In 2012, Lanshan County became one of the top ten counties in Hunan Province.
In September 2015, the pilot implementation plan of Hunan Provincial Department of land and resources to promote the economic system reform of counties directly under the provincial government was issued. According to the plan, Lanshan county has become a pilot county (city) of economic system reform directly under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province of land and resources.
In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Lanshan County as the national health county for the period of 2017-2019.
Evolution of organizational system
Blue Mountain has a long history, and the county has a history of more than 2200 years. The stone axes, stone chisels, stone arrows and pottery pieces unearthed from hengjiangluo of zhuguan Temple prove that the ancestors of the county lived and multiplied here as early as before the Xia and Shang Dynasties, and it was the place where Yushun traveled to the south.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, the county belonged to Chu. Han Gaozu five years (202 BC) built County, name Nanping, under the Guiyang County.
In 607, it was incorporated into Linwu county.
In 621, Nanping County was restored to Chenzhou. In the first year of Tianbao (742) of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, it was renamed as "Blue Mountain" because of "overlapping mountains, gathering blue sky", and it belongs to Guiyang County. Song Zhenzong Jingde three years (1007), belongs to Guiyang prison.
Yuan belongs to Guiyang road. The first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1368) belongs to Chenzhou. In the second year, it belonged to Guiyang Prefecture; in the ninth year, it belonged to Hengzhou Prefecture and Guiyang Prefecture.
The Qing Dynasty belonged to Guiyang. In 1914, Hunan Province was directly under the jurisdiction of Hengyang Dao; in 1914, Hunan Province was directly under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province; in 1916, Hunan Province was divided into nine administrative supervision districts, and Lanshan was the eighth administrative supervision district.
Since the founding of the people's Republic of China, blue mountain has been subordinate to Chenzhou District, Xiangnan administrative office, Chenzhou District, Lingling District, Lingling district and Yongzhou City.

It has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 9 townships (including 5 ethnic townships): tafeng Town, zhuguansi Town, Nanshi Town, Maojun Town, Xinxu Town, Suocheng Town, taipingwei Township, Tushi Township, Ancestral Temple Township, Daqiao Township, Jingzhu Yao Township, Ziliang Yao Township, Jiangdong Yao Township, Huiyuan Yao Township and litiou Yao township. The county government is located in tafeng town.
According to the fifth census in 2000, there are 332937 permanent residents in Lanshan County, including 77809 in tafeng Town, 32727 in zhuguansi Town, 32282 in Maojun Town, 28899 in Nanshi Town, 23403 in Suocheng Town, 40796 in Xinwei Town, 2425 in Huiyuan Township, 2258 in Lintou Township, 4318 in Jiangdong Township, 2362 in Ziliang Township, 6477 in Daqiao Township, 3528 in Jingzhu Township, 18562 in zitangwei Township and 3145 in Tushi township 2, and 25639 in taipingwei township.
