Qidong County Qidong County, subordinate to Hengyang City, Hunan Province, is located in the southwest of Hengyang City and the North Bank of the middle reaches of Xiangjiang River. Qidong County is named after the county seat in the east of Qishan mountain. In ancient times, it was the place of Yangyue and belonged to the state of Chu in the spring and Autumn period. Qi opera in Qidong is one of the excellent operas in China. Ning Liang and Chen Jian, the important ministers of Ming Dynasty, Chen Da Shou, the Minister of Qing Dynasty, Wang Ru Chi, the general of Red Army, Cao Yan, the revolutionary and the painter Guan chufei were all born here.
