Zhuhui District, the birthplace of Hengyang. Zhuhui district is the area under the jurisdiction of Hengyang City, Hunan Province. Zhuhui district is the "East Gate" of Hengyang City. It is named after Zhuhui tower. The district has six streets, two towns, two townships and five farms. It is the largest area and the most populous urban area in Hengyang City. Jiangdong District was established in 1942 and renamed Zhuhui district from Jiangdong District in 2001. Linghu plain is the birthplace of Hengyang. In 202 BC, Liu Bang, Emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty, set up Lingxian County in Linghu plain. In modern history, Mao Zedong, Xia Minghan and others guided the work of Xiangnan union of learning in Zhuhui District of Hengyang City for many times. Zhuhui district has developed transportation, surrounded by Xiangjiang River and Leishui river. Beijing Guangzhou railway, Beijing Guangzhou high speed railway, Hunan Guangxi high speed railway, Hunan Guangxi high speed railway, Jilin Hengshui railway and Huai Shao Hengshui railway meet here.
Evolution of organizational system
Zhuhui district has a history of more than 2200 years since it set Lingxian County in Linghu plain in the suburb of the city in the fifth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (202 BC). It has successively entered Linqi, Xincheng, Hengyang, Qingquan and other county territories, and is the birthplace of the ancient city of Hengyang.
In 1996, the area of Jiangdong District was 24.9 square kilometers, with a population of 160000. It has jurisdiction over 7 streets: Guangdong Road Street, Dongfeng Street, Dongyang street, metallurgical street, Miaopu street, Yuehan street and Xinxiang street. The district government is located in Xiangjiang East Road.
According to the fifth census in 2000, there are 177909 permanent residents in Jiangdong District, including 43485 in Guangdong Road Street, 21600 in Dongfeng Road Street, 20368 in metallurgical street, 52168 in Miaopu street, 19851 in Yuehan street, 5513 in Dongyang street and 14924 in Xinxiang street; in addition, there are 23893 in chashanao town, 29464 in Dongyangdu Township, 32857 in Heping Township and 21815 in Linghu township.
On April 4, 2001, the State Council approved the abolition of Jiangdong District, Chengnan District, Chengbei district and suburbs of Hengyang City and the establishment of Zhuhui District, Yanfeng District, shigu District and Zhengxiang District of Hengyang City. Zhuhui district is named after Zhuhui tower. Zhuhui District governs the administrative region of Jiangdong District, Heping, Linghu, Dongyangdu and chashanao town in the former suburb.
In 2004, Zhuhui district has jurisdiction over 6 streets, 2 towns and 2 townships (according to the administrative division code of counties and below in Hunan Province, 2004). Guangdong Road Street governs 11 communities including Xiangjiang East Road, Guangdong Road, Guangxi Road, Hunan Road, hengjili, anquanli, Hubei Road, kuihuali, hehuaping, Heping community and Linjiang road. Dongfeng Road Street governs five communities: Dongfeng Road, Qianjin Li, xuanbitang, Yiliu village and Maoping. Metallurgical Street jurisdiction Huzhu Li, Youai Li, Qinjian Li, Jianguo Li four communities. Miaopu street has jurisdiction over 8 communities, namely service lane, caijiazao, qingquanli, dongfangli, fuxiaoli, guanghuali, lequnli, Miaopu Road, jianjianli and Guangming lane. Yuehan Street governs anjuli, xiangrongli, Yuehan, airport and Binjiang communities. Xinxiang Street governs three communities: gongnongju, Xinhua and Lianhe. Chashanao town governs two neighborhood committees of Chashan and Jinjia, and 14 village committees of Chashan, Outang, Tianxin, Yantou, agriculture and forestry, Zhangmu, Jinjia, Huangzhou, Hexing, Gucheng, Huangqiao, Yangtian, Dachang and Longtang. Dongyangdu town has jurisdiction over two neighborhood committees of Dongyang and zhoujiaao, and 22 village committees of Hongxing, Renmin, Taishan, Songshan, Jintang, xinlongtou, Xintang, Dongfeng, Litang, Gaoshan, Shuguang, Nanpi, Hetang, Guangyao, Xingxiang, pingtian, Xintian, Xinglong, Yanjiang, Dongyang, guolinchang and jinlongyuchang. Heping township has 8 village committees, Xinhua, May 4th, Dongshan, Jiangdong, Heping, Hongtang, Xinmin and Hudong. Linghu township has 11 village committees: Dazhong, Jiefang, national day, Xiangyang, Shuangjiang, shangtuo, Shengli, Lingtang, Guangming, Hefu and Donghu. Jinjialing farm governs Fuxing village committee.
On November 27, 2010, the Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs approved to put Wangjiang and Maoping villages in Xiantang town of Hengnan County under the jurisdiction of Linghu Township, Zhuhui District, Hengyang City. The handover ceremony was held on December 8 and formally implemented.
In 2015, according to the township zoning adjustment plan of Zhuhui District, Hengyang City, Dongyangdu town and Xinxiang street were merged to establish Dongyangdu street. After the adjustment of township administrative divisions, Zhuhui district has abolished one township level system, and now has jurisdiction over Linghu and Heping townships, chashanao Town, Miaopu, Guangdong Road, metallurgy, Dongfeng, Hengzhou Road, Yuehan and Dongyangdu streets.

Zhuhui district is located in the center of hills in southern Hunan, with Linghu plain, the largest inland river impact plain in the city. Land accounts for 90%, water accounts for 7%, and cultivated land area is 65400 mu. Generally, it is below 500 meters above sea level, and the relative height is not more than 200 meters. It is a continuous mound like landform cluster with gentle slope and round top. Hills are the result of the erosion of mountains. In the process of geomorphic evolution, hill is the intermediate stage of transition from mountain to plain. From the perspective of structure, the crustal uplift in the hilly area is generally slow, and from the perspective of climatic conditions, the hilly area is generally distributed more in warm and humid areas. According to the undulating height, those with relative height less than 100 meters are low hills, and those with relative height of 100-200 meters are high hills.

Xiangjiang River is the largest river in Hunan Province. It originates from the West foot of Donghai Yangshan mountain in Lingchuan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and is connected with the upper source of Guijiang river by Lingqu (Xianggui canal). The Northeast flows through the eastern part of Hunan Province, through Hengyang, Xiangtan, Changsha and other cities to lulintan in Xiangyin County and into Dongting Lake. It is 817 km long, with a drainage area of 92500 square kilometers, accounting for about 4 / 10 of the province's total area. There are many tributaries, including Xiaoshui, chunlingshui, Leishui, Jishui, steaming water, Lianshui, etc. The upper reaches are turbulent and have many beaches, islets, and the middle and lower reaches are rich and stable, and most of the main and tributaries are navigable.

The average temperature in January is generally above 0 ℃, and it is hot in summer. The average temperature in July is generally about 25 ℃. The wind direction has obvious changes in winter and summer. The annual precipitation is generally more than 1000 mm, mainly concentrated in summer and less in winter. This kind of climate is most typical in Southeast China. In other areas, due to a considerable amount of precipitation in winter, there is little difference between dry and wet in winter and summer, so it is called subtropical monsoon humid climate.

The main mineral deposits include more than 50 kinds of gold, silver, lead, zinc, coal, salt, kaolin, albite, potash feldspar, etc. the reserves of Glauber's salt and bittern are several hundred million tons.
