Lusong District, under the jurisdiction of Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, is located in Hedong District of Zhuzhou City, bordering Hexi District of Zhuzhou City across Xiangjiang River in the west, Lukou District in the south, Hetang District in the East and Shifeng District in the north, with a total area of 217.18 square kilometers.
Lushong is the birthplace of Zhuzhou, which was called Jianning in ancient times. As early as the Three Kingdoms period, Jianning county was set up here, which is the beginning of the construction of Zhuzhou County. The natural conditions in the territory are superior, with Dajing scenic area and other tourist attractions.

Historical evolution
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Zhuzhou belonged to Qianzhong County of Chu.
In the 24th year of the reign of the king of Qin (223 BC), the Qin Dynasty destroyed Chu. Wuzhong area was Qianzhong County, which belonged to Zhuzhou.
In the fifth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (202 BC), Changsha state was founded, and Zhuzhou was the territory of Changsha state.
In the 19th year of Jian'an (214) of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Jianning county was established in the Three Kingdoms. Sun Quan set up Jianning County in the east of Hunan County, Liling county and Xiuxian County along the East Bank of Xiangjiang River. The county was built in Jiefang street of Qingyunshan and Nanhu street of Zhuzhou City along both sides of Jianning port. It belongs to Changsha County, which is the beginning of Zhuzhou County construction. Jianning County commercial development, once destroyed in the war.
In the ninth year of kaihuang (589), the Sui Dynasty destroyed Chen and abolished Jianning.
In the fourth year of Wude (621), Emperor Gaozu of Tang Dynasty restored Jianning county to Nanyun Prefecture; six years later, the first year of Zhenguan (627), Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty merged Jianning into Xiangtan.
In 1650, Jiangxi merchants built Ning Wharf in Zhuzhou, and the commerce developed. The trade of wood, tea, rice, meat, eggs, porcelain, firecrackers, summer cloth and local paper ranks first in Xiangtan market town.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the people's Republic of China, with the construction of Yuehan and Zhuping railways and the interconnection of Xiangjiang River, the advantages of land and water transportation were formed. There are more than 30000 residents in Zhuzhou Town, and most of them live in Jiefang street and Jianning street.
In 1944, the Japanese invaded Zhuzhou and most of the houses were destroyed. After the surrender of Japan, most of the townspeople rebuilt their homes at the original site.
Zhuzhou was liberated on August 3, 1949, and Zhuzhou District People's Government of Xiangtan County was established on August 12.
On May 31, 1997, the State Council approved the establishment of Luzong district.

On January 24, 2005, Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs issued an official reply on the adjustment of the administrative division of Luzong district (No. 7 of Xiangmin Xingfa): 1. It was agreed to cancel Jianning Township and Quchi Township, and merge the administrative areas of two townships (excluding zhutianpu village in Jianning township) into Jianning sub district office. After the adjustment of the administrative division, Jianning sub district office has jurisdiction over 17 community neighborhood committees and 12 villages. 2、 It was agreed that zhutianpu village in Jianning township should be included in wulidun township. By the end of 2010, Baiguan Town, Dajing Management Committee and yaojiaba Township were under the jurisdiction of Lusong district.
In 2015, the township division of Lusong district was adjusted: Baiguan town and yaojiaba town were incorporated into a system and Baiguan town was established. Wulidun Township and dongjiayu Street formed an organic system and merged to establish dongjiayu street.
