Tiantangzhai, the main peak of the Dabie Mountains in the north, extends to the northeast, forming a series of peaks such as yunfengding, shiguzhai, Wufengshan and HUANGMEIJIAN, and then branches to the west to form three ridges, with East River and west river running through the whole territory, forming a gradually sloping terrain from northeast to southwest. The highest point of Tiantangzhai is 1729 meters above sea level, and the lowest point of boat embankment is 90 meters above sea level, with an average slope of 17 degrees.
From the late Archean to the early Mesozoic, Yingshan was still a vast ocean. In the long period of geological history, there have been many crustal tectonic movements. The two great movements of Dabie Luliang and Indosinian made the crust in the fold area rise continuously, forming various ridges and valleys. The area is mainly controlled by NE trending folds and faults. Due to the uneven compressive stress, the NE trending folds and faults change axially, forming an arc-shaped structural belt. The three ridges of Yingshan are the result of NE trending arc-shaped folds. The East and West rivers are formed by NE trending faults. The later Yanshanian movement resulted in NE trending folds, thrusts and compressional fracture zones in the original NE trending arc structure, forming some north-south trending mountains and rivers. Since then, through the combined action of internal and external forces in the long period of the third and Quaternary, Yingshan has gradually formed a modern geomorphic outline of "three mountains with two rivers".
