Jiangxia District Jiangxia District, belonging to Wuhan City, Hubei Province, is located in the south of Wuhan city. Historical evolution
In the sixth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (201 BC), Jiangxia county was set up. Shaxian County was set up in the county, and Tukou (now Jinkou) was governed by the county.
In 378, it was renamed Runan County.
In 589, it was renamed Jiangxia county and moved to Ezhou City (now Wuchang District of Wuhan City).
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Jiangxia county was changed into Wuchang County, which was under the jurisdiction of Jianghan Road at the beginning. In the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), it was subordinate to the first special office of Hubei Province.
