Fangcheng county is a county under the jurisdiction of Nanyang City, Henan Province, located in the southwest of Henan Province. Nanyang basin is located in the northeast of China. It is adjacent to Wancheng District of Nanyang City in the South and Pingdingshan City in the north.

Fangcheng, formerly known as Yuzhou, has a long history and rich cultural heritage. It began in the Xia Dynasty and served as a tribute to Yuzhou. In the spring and Autumn period, it was the place of Chu and was one of the birthplaces of China's Silk Road. The existing ancestral sites of Zeng's family in China are: the site of the ancient state of ZA and the great wall of Chu; the ancient battlefield of the Three Kingdoms period: the old city of Bowang; the place where Princess Huyang of the Eastern Han dynasty built the truth: Lianzhen palace, fogou cliff inscriptions and other cultural sites. It is the hometown of historical and cultural celebrities such as Chen Sheng, the leader of peasant uprising in the late Qin Dynasty, Zhang Shizhi, the French Saint Han Tingwei, and Zhang Qian, the famous diplomat of the Western Han Dynasty and the pioneer of the silk road. On May 9, 2019, after the provincial special evaluation and inspection, it reached the standard of getting rid of poverty and officially withdrew from the poverty county sequence. Among them, Fangcheng is located in the main section of China's largest world-class super large rutile deposit recently discovered.
