Weicheng district belongs to Weifang City, Shandong Province. It is located in the west of Shandong Peninsula, adjacent to Hanting district in the northeast, Fangzi District in the southeast, Shouguang and Changle counties in the northwest and southwest, with a total area of 269.5 square kilometers.
Weicheng District, formerly known as Weifang City (county level), is one of the central districts of Weifang, the kite capital of the world and the capital of Chinese painting. Weicheng has a long history and is the birthplace of East Yi ancient culture. It is known as "Donglai first town". It is a famous historical and cultural city at the provincial level. It has a history of more than two thousand years of construction. In the second year of Tang Wude (619), Weizhou was reestablished under the jurisdiction of Pingshou county and Beihai County; in the sixth year of Tang Wude (623), Beihai County belonged to Weizhou; in the eighth year of Tang Wude (625), Weizhou was abolished and Beihai County belonged to daoqingzhou.
Beihai county was established in song, Jin and Yuan Dynasties, which successively belonged to Weizhou of Jingdong East Road, Weizhou of Shandong East Road and Weizhou of Yidu road.
In 1368, the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, Beihai county was removed and merged into Weizhou. In 1376, Weizhou was changed to Laizhou Prefecture. Ming Hongwu ten years (1377), demoted to county, began to call Wei County, under Laizhou Prefecture. In 1389, Weixian county was directly under Laizhou Prefecture and Pingdu Prefecture.
In the early Qing Dynasty, following the old system of the Ming Dynasty, Pingdu was reduced to Sanzhou in 1734, and Weixian county was directly under Laizhou Prefecture.
In 1914, Weixian county was subordinate to Jiaodong road. In 1925, Weixian county was changed to laijiao road. In 1927, Weixian county was directly under Shandong Province. After the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), it was subordinate to the eighth administrative supervision district of Shandong Province.
In April 1948, Weixian county was liberated and Weifang special city was established in Weicheng, Fangzi, Wangliu and other places. In August of the same year, Weixian county (New Weixian county) was reestablished, which belonged to Changwei District, most of the territory belonged to Weixian County, and the rest belonged to Weifang special city.
In June 1949, Weifang special city was renamed Weifang City, which is still under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province.
In 1950, Weifang City was abolished and the territory belonged to Weixian county.
In January 1951, Weifang City (county level) was reestablished, which belongs to Changwei District, and the territory belongs to Weixian county and Weifang City.
In November 1958, Weixian county was abolished and merged into Weifang City, and the territory belonged to Weifang City.
In January 1962, Weixian county was separated into cities and counties. Then in 1983, Weixian county and Weifang City belonged to Changwei District, Changwei district and Weifang district.
In August 1983, Weifang district and Weixian county were abolished, Weixian administrative region was merged into Weifang City, and Weifang City was established as a prefecture level provincial city. In October of the same year, the former Weifang City (county level) and the former Weixian district were divided into three county-level administrative regions: Weicheng District, Fangzi District and Hanting district.
In June 1994, Kuiwen District (county level) was set up in the east of Bailang River, and Weicheng district (county level) is still set up in the west of Bailang River, which is subordinate to Weifang City.

On May 23, 1994, the four sub district offices of Dongguan, Dongyuan, Xuexue and Xincheng to the east of Bailang River, the three towns of Dayu, erlibao and Liyuan, and the seven villages of liujiashawo, lijiashawo, Nanjia, Guojia, Lvjia, gaojiajiantouyuan and wujiajiantouyuan in junbukou town were assigned to the newly established Kuiwen District.

The geological structure of Weicheng area is the joint part of the secondary structural unit of Shandong uplift area of Sino Korean paraplatform, Ludong paleouplift area and Luxi uplift area, which is in Changwei sag, the secondary structural unit at the north end of Yishu Fault Zone. On the west side of the fault is the Qie Gegou fault in the Yishu Fault Zone, on the East is the Changyi Dadian fault, and on the other hand, Weicheng is located in the Mesozoic Cenozoic sag basin. The Yishu Fault Zone controls the formation and development of the structure, the activity of rock oar and the occurrence of mineral resources in the area. The sedimentary cap rocks are mainly Meso Cenozoic continental sedimentary formations. In geological history, the fold formed by Yanshanian movement, volcanic eruption and hypabyssal intrusive rock Himalayan movement caused basalt fissure eruption. Along with the tectonic changes, the Mesozoic stratigraphic deposits are generally accepted.

The terrain of Weicheng district is high in the South and low in the north, presenting a gentle slope, with an altitude of 192-13.5 meters. The southwest part of the region is hilly, accounting for 27.1% of the total area of the region. It is the tail of the Taiyi mountains and runs southwest to northeast. It is distributed on both sides of the greater than river. There are more than 10 mountains, including Fuyan mountain (Fushan), Wudang Mountain, mingzong mountain, Heishan mountain, qiwoluo mountain, Fengtai mountain, Siquan mountain, Xiaoji mountain, volcano and Xingshan mountain. The rest of the area is alluvial plain, accounting for 72.9% of the total area of the whole area. The terrain is gentle and flat, belonging to water landform. Climatic characteristics
Weicheng district belongs to warm temperate monsoon semi humid continental climate. There are four distinct seasons, hot and rainy, and plenty of light. In spring, the North-South wind direction alternates frequently, with more wind, less rain and dryness; in early spring, it is cold and warm and often cold in late spring; in late spring, the temperature recovers rapidly and the daily range is large; in summer, southwest wind prevails, hot and rainy, with concentrated precipitation, high temperature and humidity, with frequent thunderstorm, gale and hail; in autumn, the air humidity decreases, with cool air in autumn and more drought in late autumn; in winter, it is cold and dry, with prevailing northerly wind and less rain snow.
Water system hydrology
There are five rivers in Weicheng District, namely Bailang River, Xiaoyu River, Dahe River, Baiyang River and Changqing River, with a total length of 81.37 km. From south to north, the rivers flowing from east to West are Bailang River, Xiaoyu River, Dahe River and Baiyang River. The length of Bailang river is 24.3 km, while the length of Dahe river is 22.23 km. The two rivers run through the whole territory, entering from Changle County and leaving from Hanting district. The length of Xiaohe river is 18.5 km
