Dayu County, known as Nan'an in ancient times, belongs to Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It is located at the intersection of Jiangxi, Guangdong and Hunan provinces and is the "South Gate" of Jiangxi Province. Covering an area of 1368 square kilometers, it governs 8 towns and 3 townships. Dayu county is the origin of Neo Confucianism in the Song Dynasty. Scenic spots and historic sites include Meiguan and Guyi road in Tang and Song Dynasties, Lingyan temple in Ya mountain in Nan Tang Dynasty, song Jiayou temple tower and song Peony Pavilion. Among them, Jiayou temple tower, Meiguan and Guyi road are listed as the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
In December 2019, it will become a pilot unit for the construction of national rural governance system. In June 2020, it will be included in the list of the first batch of National Forest Rehabilitation bases. On June 30, 2020, it will be included in the list of counties in the second batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization areas. Description: Dayu county was changed to Dayu County in 1957 because of its obscure characters.
As early as the Neolithic age, there were human settlements and activities in Dayu.
The Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties belong to the ancient Yangzhou region.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it belonged to Chu first, then to Wu. After Yue destroyed Wu, it belonged to Yue. After Chu destroyed Yue, it belonged to Chu again.
After Qin Shihuang unified China, it was divided into 36 counties. Dayu belonged to Jiujiang county. Nanye county was established in the 33rd year of Qin Dynasty (214 BC), and Dayu belonged to it. In the Western Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Nanye county.
In the first year of Liang Dabao in the northern and Southern Dynasties (550), the county was transferred from Nankang county to Shixing County in donghengzhou, Guangdong Province.
In 581, Chen Xu returned to Shixing County and divided it into Anyuan County.
In 590, Anyuan County was changed into Dayu County, which was subordinate to Shixing County of Guangzhou General Manager's office. This was the beginning of Dayu county.
Shixing County was abolished in the 16th year of kaihuang (596), and Dayu county was changed from county to Dayu Town, and then returned to Nankang county.
In the first year of the Tang Dynasty (705), it was renamed Dayu County, belonging to Qianzhou in the west of Jiangnan. Since then, the history of Dayu county has remained unchanged, except for the change of ownership.
In the first year of Chunhua of Song Dynasty (990), Nan'an army was set up in Dayu County, which governed Dayu County, Nankang county and Shangyou County. Two administrative regions, Nan'an and Qianzhou (Ganzhou), were formed in Gannan.
In the 14th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1277), Nan'an army was changed into Nan'an road general office. In the 25th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1365), Nan'an road was changed into Nan'an office. The office ruled Dayu and still led three counties.
In 1517, Wang Shouren, the imperial envoy of Nanjing Youjin capital, was appointed as the governor of nangan. He led the troops of eight prefectures and one Prefecture in Ganxiang, Fujian and Guangdong, and suppressed the peasant uprising army led by Xie Zhishan in ten ways. Then, Chongyi county was established under the jurisdiction of Nanan Prefecture, including Chongyi County, Shangbao county and Yanhu County in Shangyou County, Longping county and Shangde County in Nankang County, and Yian County, niedu county and Qianchang County in Dayu county. In the Qing Dynasty, Dayu County belonged to Nan'an Prefecture.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Dayu county was directly under Jiangxi Province.
On August 16, 1949, the 426 regiment of the 142nd division of the 48th army of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, together with the South Jiangxi detachment, the second Beijiang detachment, the Linglang squadron of the Chongyu brigade of the South Jiangxi detachment, and the liberation Dayu of the neiliang uprising army.
On August 26, Dayu County People's government was established under the supervision office of Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province.
On September 11, Dayu County Committee of the CPC was established.
On May 1, 1957, with the approval of the State Council, Dayu county was renamed Dayu county (due to the remote character of Yu, simplification was carried out to facilitate people's literacy and writing), belonging to Gannan administrative office.
In July 1999, the administrative office of Ganzhou Prefecture was abolished and a prefecture level Ganzhou City was established, which belongs to Dayu county.
