Leping, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province, is under the management of Jingdezhen city. It is a city under separate planning in Jiangxi Province. Historical evolution
Leping was inhabited by human beings in the Paleolithic age. In the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period, it belonged to Wu, Yue and Chu successively, first to pan, and then to Yuhan county. After the Qin Dynasty unified China, the county system was implemented, belonging to Yuhan County of Jiujiang county. In Han Dynasty, it was Le'an township of Yuhan county.

In 591, the tenth year of kaihuang reign of Sui Dynasty, the system of Yincheng county was abolished, and the jurisdiction was once again assigned to Poyang.
In the fourth year of Wude in Tang Dynasty (621), the organizational system of Leping county was restored and it was subordinate to daoraozhou in Jiangnan. In the ninth year of Wude (626), the organizational system of Leping county was abolished, and its jurisdiction was still under the jurisdiction of Poyang. In the fourth year of Kaiyuan (716), Leping county was rebuilt again. The county seat is located in Shuikou, Changle (now Tongshan port village, Zhongbu town), and it is subordinate to Raozhou, the West Road of Jiangnan. In the second year of Shengyuan (938), Dexing County was established in three townships, Leping, Yinshan and Nanbu.
During the Xining period of the Song Dynasty (1068-1077), Jiexiang people were assigned to Dexing County.
In the first year of Yuanzhen (1295) of the Yuan Dynasty, the county was promoted to a state, which was subordinate to Raozhou road in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
In the early Ming Dynasty, the state was changed into a county, and the road was changed into a government. Leping is under the jurisdiction of Jiujiang Road, Jiangxi Province. In the seventh year of Zhengde (1512), all Xinjin townships in the south of the county and most fengle townships were designated, and Wannian county was established by merging with some areas designated by Poyang and Yugan counties.
In the Qing Dynasty, Leping County inherited the system and subordination of Ming Dynasty.
From the first year to the third year of the Republic of China (1912-1914), the government abolished the government and set up the road. Leping was subordinate to Xunyang Road (governing Jiujiang). In 1916, the county was directly under the provincial government. In 1930, the Soviet regime of Leping county was established under the jurisdiction of Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces. The Northeast Jiangxi special committee and the Revolutionary Committee of Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi Province were stationed in Leping. In 1932, after the withdrawal of the Red Army, Leping belonged to the fourth administrative region of Jiangxi Province (governing Poyang). In 1935, it was changed into the fifth Administrative Region (the office of the commissioner was moved to Jingdezhen).
On April 29, 1949, the Chinese people's Liberation Army entered Leping. Leping county is located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province. In October of the same year, the office of the Commissioner moved to Jingdezhen and changed to Fuliang district.
In October 1952, Leping was transferred to Shangrao district.
In October 1983, it was transferred to Jingdezhen city.

The water system in Leping belongs to the Poyang Lake water system in the Yangtze River Basin. The seven rivers of one river (Le'an River) are pinnately distributed throughout the territory. Taishui, Guanzhuang, Changle, Chexi, anyin and Panxi are tributaries of Le'an River.
The Le'an River runs through the whole territory from east to west. It belongs to the South Branch of Rao river. It originates from Wuyuan. After flowing through the northwest of Dexing, it enters Leping from daicun village, mingkou Town, with a total length of 279 km. The main stream in Leping is 83.2 km long, with a drainage area of 1944 square km.
There are two sources of water in the north and the South: the North source comes from Dexing, pinglinjian and yinshanjian on the border of Yushan, and the general flow trend is East-West; the south source comes from yinguao on the border of Dexing, Yushan and Shangrao counties, flows westward to Langkou and meets with the North Source, and then flows westward through Yangcun, Huaqiao, Xinying, Yincheng, Nandun, etc., into the territory of Leping, and then meets the Le'an River in the southeast of daicun.
