Zherong county is under the jurisdiction of Ningde County, Fujian Province. Zherong County, formerly known as Zheyang, is an inland mountainous county in Northeast Fujian. Its ancestors lived here as early as Neolithic age and before Shang and Zhou dynasties. Historical evolution
The name of the county seems to be Zheyang. According to the summary of history reading Fang Yu, "Zheyang east mountain looks hundreds of miles overseas."
Zherong county was located in zheyangli, Linghuo Township, Changxi County in Song Dynasty, and zheyangshangli, Linghuo Township, Funing Prefecture in Yuan Dynasty. It belongs to Funing County in the early Ming Dynasty and Funing Prefecture in the ninth year of Chenghua (1473). In 1734, it belonged to Xiapu County of Funing Prefecture. The Song Dynasty set up the inspection department of Kuxi (today's Fuxi). Zheyang inspection department was set up in the sixth year of Zhengtong of Ming Dynasty (1441), abolished in the 39th year of Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1700), and restored in the fourth year of Qianlong of Qing Dynasty (1739).
From 1909 to 1931, it was Zheyang District in Xiapu County. In 1932, it was the Sixth District of Xiapu County. In 1933, it was the Fourth District of Xiapu County. In April 1934, the Communist Party of China opened up the Soviet Area in Zheyang, and established the Soviet government of Xiapu Shangxi Zheyang. From May to October of the same year, the Soviet government of xiadingtai county was established in Zheyang Soviet Area, belonging to the Soviet government of eastern Fujian. In June 1935, Zheyang special zone was established, directly under the first administrative supervision district of Fujian Province (the office of the inspector general was stationed in Changle County, moved to Minhou in 1938, and moved to Fu'an in 1942). In September 1943, it was the eighth administrative supervision district (the office of the commissioner was located in Fu'an county).
On October 1, 1945, Zherong county was established as the eighth administrative supervision district. On October 15, 1961, Zherong county was restored and still belongs to Fu'an district. On July 1, 1970, the organizational system of Zherong county was abolished again. Seven people's communes in the original County, Chengguan, Dongyuan, Zhaizhong, Huangbai, Fuxi, Chuping and Yingshan, were under the jurisdiction of Fu'an County, and zhayang people's commune was under the jurisdiction of Fuding county. On March 15, 1975, Zherong county system was restored again, belonging to Ningde area. On August 18, 1989, with the approval of the State Council, Zherong was listed as one of the 55 cities and counties open to the outside world.

In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, the people's Government of Zherong county set up a double town and two districts, the first (Fuxi) and the second (Shixian). The old Baojia system was temporarily used to implement the new policy.
In January 1950, Shuangcheng Town was abolished and the whole county was divided into three districts. In June, the old Baojia system was abolished, democratic administration was implemented, and the township government was established. In August 1956, the organizational system of Zherong county was abolished and the whole territory was merged into Fu'an county. Zherong district was established by merging 11 townships of 1 town directly under the jurisdiction of Zherong county and 9 townships under the jurisdiction of Chuping district. The name of Fuxi district and its Township remain unchanged.
In August 1958, Fuxi district was merged with Zherong District, and the original one town and 30 townships of the two districts were readjusted to one town and 8 townships.
In October 1958, the management system of "communization" was implemented, and the rural people's commune of "integration of government and society" was established. Zherong rural people's commune union of Fu'an county was established in the reconstruction of the former Zherong district. It has four rural people's communes (Zherong, Fuxi, Chuping and Qiyang) and 42 production teams.
In December 1959, Qiyang commune merged with Zherong commune.
In 1960, Fuxi commune set up two production brigades, Dongxi and Shanzhang.
In July 1961, the commune system was decentralized and the district system was restored. The original three communes were changed into three districts of Zherong, Fuxi and Chuping. The original 44 production brigades were reorganized into 23 people's communes (small communes for short). Under Zherong District, a double town was set up to deal with non-agricultural population affairs. On October 15, the system of Zherong county was restored, with three districts, one town and 23 communes still under its jurisdiction. The former Zherong district was renamed suburban district (the district office was moved from Xiacheng to Qianshan).
In 1964, Shuangcheng Town and Xincheng commune in suburban area merged to form Chengguan town and Chengguan commune with two brands and one set of people.
In February 1965, the district was withdrawn and the commune was merged. From 23 communes (towns) merged into 8 communes, under the jurisdiction of 83 brigade.
In 1966, the Dongyuan commune set up a brigade in Yangbian.
On July 1, 1970, the organizational system of Zherong county was abolished again, and seven communes (Chengguan commune, Dongyuan commune, Fuxi commune, Huangbai commune, Zhaizhong commune, Chuping commune and Yingshan commune) and their 73 brigades were incorporated into the jurisdiction of Fu'an county (after incorporation, Chengguan commune was renamed Zherong commune); and 11 brigades under zhayang commune were incorporated into the jurisdiction of Fuding county.
In 1972, Yingshan commune set up a new brigade named Tian touyang.

On March 15, 1975, Zherong County resumed its organizational system again. The eight communes originally assigned to Fu'an and Fuding were all assigned to Zherong. At the same time, during the withdrawal of Zherong County, Tan tou commune of Fu'an county was under the jurisdiction of Huangbai commune, and Xiaping brigade was also under the jurisdiction of Zherong along with the restoration of Zherong county. Zherong commune was restored to Chengguan commune after the county was restored. At this time, the county had a total of 8 communes and 86 brigades.
In July, Chuping commune added Chawan (separated from Wanli Group) and bootling tail (separated from jinjiayang group), and the heshangyang group of Yingshan commune was renamed Fengyang group. The county has a total of 88 brigades under its jurisdiction.
On August 16, 1980, Chengguan commune separated out four brigades: North Street, South Street, Xiping and Shangcheng, and restored Chengguan town. The former Chengguan commune was renamed Chengjiao commune. At the same time, the Xianshan brigade of zhayang commune and the jinjiayang and laolingwei brigade of Chuping commune were under the jurisdiction of Chengjiao commune.
In December, the Revolutionary Committee of the people's Commune and the revolutionary leading group of the brigade were abolished, and the Management Committee of the people's Commune and the brigade was restored.
In 1981, Huangbai commune added a brigade of shanghuangbai (separated from Huangbai brigade). The county has 114 brigades under its jurisdiction. In November of this year, the original name of Shuangcheng Town was restored to Chengguan town.
