Liangxi District Liangxi District, located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, is located in the center of Wuxi City. In October 2015, Chongan District, Nanchang District and Beitang District were abolished and Liangxi District of Wuxi City was established. On October 13, 2015, the State Council approved the approval of Jiangsu Province to adjust some administrative divisions of Wuxi City (Guo Han No. 184) and agreed to cancel Chongan District, Nanchang District and Beitang District of Wuxi City and establish Liangxi District of Wuxi City. The former administrative regions of Chongan District, Nanchang District and Beitang District are the administrative regions of Liangxi district. Evolution of organizational system
In April 1949, Wuxi County was set up as Wuxi City and Wuxi County, when Wuxi City had 12 towns under its jurisdiction. At the same time, five public security bureaus were set up in the city, the East, the west, the South and the north, which was the rudiment of Wuxi City's core urban area.
In September 1949, Wuxi City abolished the town system, which was directly managed by the city, and the civil affairs were handled by five public security bureaus.
In October 1951, eight districts were set up in Wuxi, of which the first to the fifth districts were urban areas.
In December 1955, the first to the fifth districts were renamed Chongan District, Gongyun District, Nanchang District, Xixin district and Beitang District respectively.
