Ningjin County Ningjin County, subordinate to Xingtai City, Hebei Province, is located in the south central part of Hebei Province and the north of Xingtai City, with an administrative area of 1107 square kilometers. It governs one street, 11 towns and 5 townships, with a permanent resident population of 7814000 (2014). The county people's government is located at 23 Tianbao East Street, Fenghuang town.
Ningjin County is located in the alluvial plain at the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain, with low, flat and open terrain, inclined from northwest to Southeast. 11 rivers, such as Fuhe River, Fuyang River, Laozhang River, Beili River and Fuhe River, gather here, known as "the bottom of nine rivers". It belongs to warm temperate semi-arid monsoon climate zone. Mineral resources include oil, natural gas, rock salt, geothermal and so on.
Ningjin County is a big traditional agricultural county. The main crops are wheat and corn, and the special products are Xuehua pear, Yali Pear and edible fungi. The industry has formed an industrial system dominated by monocrystalline silicon solar cells, salt chemical industry, textile and clothing, biopharmaceuticals, wires and cables, and machinery manufacturing. There are Ningjin Economic Development Zone, Ningjin salt chemical industry park, Dongcheng Industrial Park and other economic functional zones. In 2016, the GDP of Ningjin County was 23.82 billion yuan, and the public budget revenue was 810 million yuan. In 2019, it was listed as the second batch of national agricultural product quality and safety counties. It is a typical county of rural innovation and entrepreneurship in China. In September 2020, it will be included in the list of food industry strong counties (cities, districts) in Hebei Province.

In ancient times, the territory of Ningjin was called Yangdi, also known as Yangyu.
In Tang Yao's time, Jizhou was one of the nine states.
In Shun Dynasty, it was divided into twelve states, Jizhou into Youzhou and Bingzhou, and Yangdi into Bingzhou.
In Xia and Shang Dynasties, Youzhou and Bingzhou merged, and Yangdi belonged to Jizhou.
The Zhou Dynasty belonged to the state of Xing. At the end of the spring and Autumn period, he returned to the state of Jin. The Warring States belongs to the state of Zhao.
In the 25th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (222 BC), Qin destroyed the state of Zhao and established Julu County. Yang's city belonged to Julu County.
In the 11th year of emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty (196b.c.), Yang's county was set up (the governing seat of Yang's city is located in today's Chengguan) and huangtao county (the governing seat is located 14.5km south of Yang's city), and Hecheng Marquis state was set up in the Northeast of Yang's County, belonging to Julu County;
In the ninth year of Emperor Wen (171 BC), he was abandoned to become a marquis state; in the fourth year of shenjue (58 BC), Li Xiang Marquis state was established (the old city was 12.5 km east of the present county), belonging to Julu County; in the late Western Han Dynasty, Li Xiang Marquis state was abandoned.
In the second year of the founding of the people's Republic of China (AD 9), Yang's county was renamed gonglu county.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Yang's county and huangtao county were assigned to Julu County of Jizhou governor's department. In the 17th year of Jian'an (212), luotao county was changed to Wei County of Jizhou, and it soon returned to Julu County.
In the second year (221) of Huangchu period in the Wei Dynasty, luotao county was still a Julu County; in the seventh year (226) of Huangchu period, Julu County was changed into Julu state; in the sixth year (232) of Taihe period, the state was moved to a county, and the county ruled luotao (now in the south of Ningxia and Shanxi).
During the Taikang period of the Western Jin Dynasty (280-289), Yang's county was abolished and merged into huangtao County, belonging to the Julu state of Jizhou.
In the Northern Wei Dynasty, Julu County was divided into northern Julu County and southern Julu County. Huangtao County belonged to northern Julu County, and the county governed huangtao county (now ningjinnan), belonging to Yinzhou.
In the second year of Yong'an (529), it was established in Longyao county. The county governs Yang's old city (now Chengguan), belonging to Julu County in the south of Yinzhou.
In the Northern Qi Dynasty, huangtao county was abandoned and merged into Huangyao County, belonging to Zhao county.
In the sixth year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (586), Huangyao county was renamed as huangtao County, belonging to Zhao county of Zhaozhou. In the 16th year of kaihuang (596), guanga county (now part of Ningjin and Longyao counties) was set up as mainland County, belonging to Zhaozhou, and the county government was located in Yutai village in the South and north; luanzhou was set up in Zhaozhou, and luanzhou was set up in luotao county. In the second year of Daye (606), luanzhou was abolished and merged into Zhaozhou, and Longtao county was restored to Zhaozhou; mainland county was abolished and merged into Xiangcheng County (formerly guanga county), and Xiangcheng County was renamed as continental county. In the third year of Daye (607), Zhaozhou was changed into Zhaojun, and luotao County belonged to Zhaojun.
In 618, the first year of Wude in Tang Dynasty, Zhaojun was changed to Zhaozhou, which belonged to Longtao county. In the fourth year of Wude, Zhao Zhou's office was moved to Pingji. In the first year of Tianbao (742), due to the bad luck of the homonym "Ying run" for "Tao Tao", it was renamed Ningjin County with the meaning of "Anning Jinfu" and belonged to Zhao county (Zhaozhou).

In 1073, Hebei road was divided into East Road and West Road. Zhaozhou belonged to Hebei West Road, and Ningjin County belonged to it. In the first year of Xuanhe (1119), Zhaozhou was changed into Qingyuan Prefecture, which belonged to Ningjin County.
In 1129, Qingyuan Prefecture was changed to Zhaozhou; in 1151, Zhaozhou was changed to Wozhou, which belongs to Ningjin County.
In the early years of Mongolia, Wozhou was renamed Zhaozhou, which belongs to Zhending road; in the sixth year of Taizong (1234), Zhaozhou was abolished and yonganzhou was established, which belongs to Ningjin County; in the seventh year of Taizong (1235), yonganzhou was abolished and Zhaozhou was renamed, which belongs to Ningjin County.
At the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty, Ningjin County was once renamed Ningchang county.
In 1369, Ningjin County belonged to Zhaozhou, Zhongshu province of Zhili. Later, Zhongshu province was changed into the capital, and Lu was changed into Fu. Ningjin belonged to Zhaozhou, the capital.
In the early Qing Dynasty, it still belonged to Zhaozhou. In 1742, Zhaozhou was promoted to Zhili state, which belonged to Ningjin County. In the 25th year of Jiaqing (1820), in order to avoid Xuanzong's taboo of "minning", Ningjin was changed to "Ningjin".
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), it was renamed "Ningjin" as a medium-sized County, belonging to the Southern Hebei road of Zhili Province. The county government was renamed the county office.
In 1914, it belonged to damingdao.
In 1928, the administrative system of "Dao" was abolished. Ningjin County was directly under Hebei Province, and the county office was renamed the county government.
In 1936, Ningjin County belonged to the 13th supervision district of Hebei Province.
In October 1937, the KMT county government fled to the south, and Ningjin County was in anarchy. The Japanese army occupied the county and supported the local gentry to form the maintenance Council (the Japanese army was eager to go south, but did not stay).
In February 1938, the Eighth Route Army's eastward army occupied the county seat, disbanded the maintenance Committee, and local gentry promoted the county magistrate; in September, the Anti Japanese democratic government of Ningjin County led by the CPC was established, stationed in Dongguan County, Ningjin County belongs to the fourth special office of Southern Hebei District; in October, the county Anti Japanese government withdrew from the county seat, moved to Mengcun, Xuezhuang and liangjiazhuang, and then moved to beiquanli; in November, the county Anti Japanese government moved from Mengcun, Xuezhuang and liangjiazhuang to beiquanli In December, the Kuomintang Ningjin County Government (commonly known as the exiled county government or the second government) was re established. The government had no fixed location, and most of its activities were in rural areas.
In April 1940, Ningnan County was established in the south of Ningjin County. Ningjin County is under the jurisdiction of seven special districts of Jizhong district (Shanxi Chahar Hebei border region), and Ningnan County is under the jurisdiction of eleven special districts of Southern Hebei District (Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan border region).
In 1941, Ningjin County, Zhao county and Yuanshi County joined together to form Zhao Yuanning United County, which was under the jurisdiction of seven special districts of Jizhong district together with Ningjin County; Ningnan County was still under the jurisdiction of eleven special districts of Jinan District.
In June 1945, Zhao Yuanning Union County was abolished; Ningjin County was changed into the sixth special district of Jizhong district and Ningnan County into the fourth special district of Jinan District; in August, Ningjin County and Ningnan County Anti Japanese democratic government were changed into democratic government; in September, Ningjin County was liberated and Ningjin County Democratic government moved to the county; in October, the Kuomintang Ningjin County Government in exile was established.
In July 1946, Ningjin County was changed into the 11th special district of Jizhong District, and Ningnan County was still the 4th special district of Jinan District.
In September 1948, the people's Government of North China was established, and the districts on both sides of Shanxi, Chahar, Hebei, Shandong and Henan were abolished. Ningjin County and Ningnan County were assigned to the North China Administrative Region along with the 11th special region of central Hebei and the fourth special region of Southern Hebei.
In August 1949, the people's Government of Hebei Province was established; in October, Ningnan County and Ningjin County were merged into Ningjin County, which belongs to Xingtai District of Hebei Province.
In April 1958, Xingtai district was abolished and Ningjin County was assigned to Shijiazhuang district; in December 1958, Xinhe County and Zhao county were abolished and merged into Ningjin County.
In May 1960, Shijiazhuang special district was abolished, and Ningjin County belonged to Shijiazhuang city.
In May 1961, Xingtai district was restored, and Ningjin County was put under Xingtai district; in July, Ningjin County was restored to Zhao county and Xinhe County.
In 1970, Xingtai area was renamed Xingtai area, which belongs to Ningjin County.
In July 1993, Xingtai district was merged with Xingtai City, which was under the jurisdiction of Xingtai City.
