Lixia District Lixia District, belonging to Jinan City, Shandong Province, is located in the east of Jinan City. It borders Licheng District in the East, Tianqiao District and Shizhong District in the west, Licheng District in the South and Licheng District in the north. Historical evolution
According to the "Longshan culture" site unearthed in chengziya, Zhangqiu County in 1928 and the "Dawenkou Culture" relics unearthed in Tianjiazhuang, the western suburb of Jinan City in 1964, it is indicated that the ancient inhabitants had been living and reproducing as early as 6000 years ago in the Neolithic age.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it was subordinate to the state of Qi. According to the records of the historian, Jin aristocratic family: "when Qi was attacked in ordinary years, Qi linggong and Zhan MEIXIA were defeated.".

In the Ming Dynasty, in the ninth year of Hongwu (1376), Cheng announced that the Secretary for administration moved from Qingzhou to Licheng. Since then, Lixia ancient city is the seat of provincial, government and county government.
In Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Licheng County of Jinan Prefecture.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), it belonged to DaiBei Dao Licheng county. In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), it belonged to Jinan Dao Licheng county. In 1929, Jinan was established as the first, second and third districts of Jinan. In 1937, Licheng county government moved out.
At the beginning of the liberation of Jinan in September 1948, the old system of administrative division was adopted. The District People's government was established in October of the same year.
In January 1951, the urban area was renamed the Second District, and the third district was renamed the first district. In June of the same year, the district office was renamed the District People's government.

In May 1961, the administrative division of Jinan City was adjusted and Shidong district was abolished. Xuri 1 branch and Dongjiao branch were included in Lixia District. In July, 16 agricultural brigades including Qilihe returned to Licheng county. In October, Shizhong District was restored in Jinan City, and xiqinglong Street branch and Communist Youth League Road (formerly Pulimen) branch were restored to Shizhong District.
In December 1962, the urban people's commune was abolished, the urban branch was restored, and the Xuri branch and the Dongjiao branch were retained.
In November 1964, Xuri branch was renamed Gongye 2nd Road branch.
In February 1967, Dongjiao branch and Gongye Erlu branch established Revolutionary Committee. In October 1969, the two revolutionary committees, Dongjiao and gongyeerlu, disintegrated. The non-agricultural population under their jurisdiction was respectively assigned to Dongguan Street Revolutionary Committee and Jiefanglu Street Revolutionary Committee. In September 1979, the vegetable market brigade and Dongguan brigade of Beiyuan people's commune of Licheng county were assigned to Dongguan Street of Lixia District; the sunshine brigade of Yaojia people's commune was assigned to Jiefang Road street of Lixia District; and the Xiangyang brigade was assigned to Sili street of Lixia District.
In February 1982, Lixia District classified Baotuquan and zhengjuesi streets to the south of Jingshi Road as the newly established Qianfoshan street; Jiefang Road Street to the east of Lishan Road south section as the newly established Wenhua East Road Street; Jiefang Road Street to the east of Lishan Road north section and Dongguan Street to the south of Huayuan Road as the newly established Jianshe Xincun street.

Rivers in Lixia District include moat, caishizhuang River, qushuiting River and Daliu xingtou river. Moat is an artificial river built around the old city, with a total length of 6260 meters and a jurisdiction of 5534 meters. Baotu Spring, Heihu spring, Zhenzhu spring and Wulongtan spring are the sources of the river. Baotu Spring Group and Wulongtan spring group flow into West moat, north moat and Xiluo River into Xiaoqing River; heihuquan group flow into South Moat, East moat and caishizhuang River into Xiaoqing River; Zhenzhuquan group flow into Daming Lake, xiaobeimen, north moat and caishizhuang River into Xiaoqing River. Daliu xingtou River collects water from dongweizi ditch and other drainage ditches into Xiaoqing River. The moat was turned into a tourist river of the park around the city in 1985.
