[plant morphology] Helianthus annuus
Subshrub. Stem erect, green, round, twigs slightly angular, with white lenticels. Single leaf alternate, sometimes two leaves opposite to the same side of the branch, elliptic, 5-18 cm long, 2.5-8 cm wide, apex short pointed, entire, base gradually narrowed, extending into petiole, petiole 0.5-1 cm long. Cymes on stems, sometimes opposite leaves; flowers white. Petiole ca. 1 cm, calyx ca. 2.5 mm, 5-lobed, corolla short, lobes 5, long ovate lanceolate; stamens 5; ovary 2-locular. Berry globose, 3-4 mm, yellow at maturity.
Born in the village, roadside, valley. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guangxi and other places.
