[plant morphology] Yunnan gouer tea, also known as qinglongcao (herbal formula), daughterblack tea (classified herbal medicine), daughtertea (Tianbao materia medica), broken rice vine and pan silver.

Climbing shrubs, up to 3-5 meters long. Branchlets smooth, sparsely black, light brown or olive. Leaves alternate, papery, elliptic or ovate, 1.5-3 cm long, 7-15 mm wide, apex obtuse or rounded, apical, base rounded, entire, dark green above, smooth below, yellowish white below, lateral veins 6-10 pairs; petiole about 7.5 mm long. Raceme, terminal, rarely axillary, 3-10 cm long; flowers slightly yellow, 2-5 clusters in each node, buds triangular, apex pointed, pedicel equal to or slightly longer than flowers; sepals 6, wider than petals, broadly lanceolate; petals 5, obovate, apex concave; stamens 5; ovary superior, sessile, style shallow 2-lobed. Drupe oblong, apex apiculate or obtuse, ca. 7 mm, purple black.

Born on earth or barren slope to the sun. Distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and other places.
