In August 1961, it was built by the West Railway Branch of Ping'an District commune. In October 1963, Ping'an district was abolished and Zhanqian Branch was returned to Haizhou District. In 1979, it was changed to Zhanqian street. At the end of 2011, the total population of the district was 22417, all of whom were urban permanent residents, and the urbanization rate was 100%. As of June 2020, Zhanqian street has jurisdiction over 12 communities.
