Historical evolution

In 1950, it belonged to the Sixth District of Muping. In 1956, it was changed to yuangezhuang township; in 1958, it was changed to commune; in 1984, it was restored to township; in 1992, it was restored to town. In 1997, with an area of 71 square kilometers and a population of 23000, yuangezhuang town is located in the west of Muping District, 30 kilometers away from the center of the city.
